I finally got around to seeing this classic. It took me a few tries, because I kept falling asleep (to be fair, I always started it late at night, while in bed, so take into consideration). After 3 tries, I finally got around to finishing it.

I had real high hopes for this classic. Being so high up in IMDb Top250, and on top of that, being called Number 1 film of ALL TIME by Am... read more

The greatest film of all time? In many aspects, yes. Every film watcher knows that there is no definitive greatest film. However, from an objective point of view, Orson Welles’ 1941 masterpiece is a strong candidate. It is literally a perfect film. From its acting, writing and story to its technical composition, Citizen Kane is flawless. Let’s put it in layman’s terms. It’s a fact that it ... read more

Multimillionaire newspaper tycoon Charles Foster Kane dies alone in his extravagant mansion, Xanadu, speaking a single word: "Rosebud". In an attempt to figure out the meaning of this word, a reporter tracks down the people who worked and lived with Kane; they tell their stories in a series of flashbacks that reveal much about Kane's life but not enough to unlock the riddle of his dying breath.

100 Greatest Golden Age Hollywood Films (100 movies items)

"Orson Welles' legendary debut feature 'Citizen Kane' is a film that seems to be more talked about than seen these days. Worse still, because it is seen as a critic's film more than a popular crowd-pleaser 'Citizen Kane' is regularly dismissed, often by people who haven't even seen it, with a roll of the eyes and an implication that its many fans are pretentious poseu"

Phenomenal Movie Trailers (11 movies items)

" What better way to promote a movie than having the man behind the film do it himself. From Godfather's over exposition to Citizen Kane's zero exposition. It's fitting that a groundbreaking film should have a groundbreaking trailer alongside it. Some even believed the trailer was of such import that it should be a part of the man's filmography. As a behind the scenes docu-piece, it's vintage Welles. Trailer wise, I don't think it's successful. It needs a hook and people aren't just going to "
