Thereās also a large section where Logan 5 (Michael York) goes on the run with a sexy sidekick/love interest (Jenny Agutter), and thatās about where the novel and movie converge. "Life is pretty dreamy inside a giant city-sized bubble in the year 2274. Thereās no disease, no wars, and everyone is young and beautiful. Thereās a catch, of course, and itās a doozy: Everyone who reaches the end of their twenties must participate in a public death match, and those trying to escape are hunted by black-jumpsuited cops. The miniatures of the domed city and teens riding up and down shopping mall escalators in Christmas-colored caftans remind you that is indeed a Seventies id"
