"30.4. 2024 A young American woman travels to Europe to join a famous ballet school. Several shocking incidents and an overall suspicious atmosphere make the new student to realize that there's something seriously wrong with the school. Argento's long and colourful shots are visually impressive, but the film in its entirety feels hollow. Argento's films have always felt more formalistic trickery to me than anything else. The screechy soundtrack, cheap effects, and wooden acting make it hard for "
"Watched on: Watched on: February 9th, 2024. Well... that was freaky. I can see the cult-status behind this one for sure. Very gory, especially the very beginning of the film. I didn't even read up on this beforehand, I decided to just watch it with a blind-eye / clear mind, which I'm happy I did so. Definitely one of "those" types of horror I can see... and it delivered! This is a very powerful film experience, especially in the department of looks and sound. I is also very original, I haven't seen another movie like this. The plot is simple enough: an American Girl, Susie Banyon (played by a young Jessica Harper), arrives to Germany to join a dance academy. The academy is run by witches. The story feels closer to fairy-tales, like Grimm brothers, than usual gore/horror.
The strength of Suspiria is how it looks and sounds: the colors (vivid red, blue and green) are fantastic and create a very fairytale-like effect (similar in styl” read more

" MARCH 9, 2022 SUSPIRIA (1977, dir: Dario Argento) Cast: Jessica Harper, Stefania Casini, Barbara Magnolfi, Alida Valli, Joan Bennett My rating: 6/10 Watched on PRIME VIDEO - Hollywood Suite"
"Possibly the paragon of Italian horror cinema. Packed to the gills with gorgeous cinematography, a vibrantly cacophonous score, phantasmagoric visuals, and unrelenting atmosphere. Like a modern, poetic fairy tale. "
