Description: Jake Van Dorn is a businessman from the American heartland who shares strong Calvinist convictions with most of his countrymen. His teenage daughter is missing from her church youth convention trip to California and Van Dorn hires a private investigator to find her. The result of the investigation is his daughter is spotted in a cheap X-rated movie. Van Dorn decides to bring her back personally and during the quest he becomes familiar with the pornographic underworld. Hardcore has been reviewed as a melodramatic private detective story. " Date: 1/24/2022 Viewed: Amazon Prime First Viewing Note: After hearing so much about this film over the years, I decided to finally watch it. Hardcore's premise sounds fantastic, and I've enjoyed the other films from Paul Schrader. I'm glad I saw it because it was awesome. Hardcore is, in my opinion, a great film. The story about a father (played by George C. Scott) attempting to find his daughter, who may have been kidnapped to star in adult films, was fascinating and entertaining to me. S"
