A total masterpiece, and a new manly classic

"We have the skills and the right to acquire proper compensation."The third feature film from writer-director S. Craig Zahler, 2018's Dragged Across Concrete is a new manly classic for the ages, further verifying the filmmaker's immense talents behind the camera. Zahler happily preserves the distinct filmmaking idiosyncrasies glimpsed in both Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99, with Dragged ... read more

A good movie

Since it seemed to be a decent flick (I was actually already sold by the title), I thought I might as well check it out. Well, it turned out to be another really solid directorial effort from S. Craig Zahler after ‘Bone Tomahawk’ and ‘Brawl in Cell Block 99’ and you can only wonder what he will do next. It was also Zahler’s longest movie so far with a whopping running time of around 160 ... read more

" Director: S. Craig Zahler His 3rd movie My 2nd movie watched from the director Gibson and Vaughn make a memorable team, the dialogue is purposely filled with movie-speak, the characters are engaging, the violence is brutal... the violence is fucking brutal, but the violence is not excessive and not always seen, the ending is kind of brilliant. Winter/Spring 2022 Viewings (11 movies items)

"Viewing: 1st Format: Blu-ray Thoughts: I was looking forward to seeing this one based on the director's previous films (Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99), both of which were intense and extremely violent cult level films. Here I think he's doing more of the buddy cop, police procedural which starts out as a slow burn for the first half. I won't give up much of the plot but once the showdown happens it reaches new heights, and from then on the movie is an intense and suspenseful standoff."

A good movie

“Since it seemed to be a decent flick (I was actually already sold by the title), I thought I might as well check it out. Well, it turned out to be another really solid directorial effort from S. Craig Zahler after ‘Bone Tomahawk’ and ‘Brawl in Cell Block 99’ and you can only wonder what he will do next. It was also Zahler’s longest movie so far with a whopping running time of around 160 mins and while this aspect did slightly bother me with ‘Brawl...’, here, it worked like a charm though. Sure, it might seem to be slow but it was actually a very effective way to build up the suspense but, above all, it allowed the different characters to be properly developed as well as their motivation. Still, I’m not sure if the story really did make sense to me though. I mean, the reason” read more

Top 10 Manliest Movies of 2019 (10 movies items)

" Once again, out-of-left-field prodigy S. Craig Zahler hath delivered, though was there really any doubt after the astonishing one-two punch of Bone Tomahawk and the even better Brawl in Cell Block 99? Gentlemen, Dragged Across Concrete is another exercise in engrossing prolonged character interaction and drama, broken up by beats of insane ultraviolence that will have you wincing. Zahler has a unique voice, and he sticks to it for his third outing as writer-director; deliberate yet mesmerising "

"One of the last films I saw before starting at the new job. So of course I started watching this at 2 am. It's long and slow but I just loved the film. Gibson and Vaughn are great together and the bloody brutal action scenes are just greatly done. S. Craig Zahler has earned his spot among my favorite film makers with the 3 films he has directed."
