An average movie

To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this movie and maybe I should re-watch it at some point. Basically, Clint Eastwood had reached some personal high as a director but, after making 3 of his best movies back-to-back. However, for some reasons,  it seems that the guy thought it was enough for the time being and he started to direct back to make some decent but slightly underwhelmin... read more

Based on the novel by David Baldacci, Absolute Power is about the ruthlessness of people in power. The President believes that everything he does is beyond reproach, including an affair or two. That leads to murder and everyone around him is involved. There is only one witness, a thief named Luther Whitney. They are sure he'll talk, but when? The Secret Service is determined to keep him quiet, but catching a thief isn't always easy.

Hit Or Miss? Good Or Bad? 2019 Movies Watched (461 movies items)

"While robbing the home of aging billionaire Walter Sullivan, Luther Whitney is interrupted by an amorous couple entering the building. As Whitney hides, he sees Sullivan's young wife, Christy, and the U.S. President, Alan Richmond. When their affection turns violent, Christy is killed by the Secret Service. Although Whitney flees, he is framed for the murder. Now, he seeks justice with the help of detective Seth Frank. This movie has one of the best premises of any thriller I've ever heard of. "

Clint Eastwood Films: Director - Ranked (36 movies items)

" Clint is really awesome in it. The dialogue between him and Ed Harris is freaking amazing. The actors are really enjoying themselves in this movie, and it affects me as viewer. Not to mention that the story is actually quite good, and develops in a good way."

Basically, Clint Eastwood had reached some personal high as a director but, after making 3 of his best movies back-to-back. However, for some reasons,  it seems that the guy thought it was enough for the time being and he started to direct back to make some decent but slightly underwhelming flicks and it would take him about 8 years to finally impress us again with a downright masterpiece. In fact, to be honest, this was actually a pretty decent thriller, rather well made and quite entertaining. At least, it was better than ‘True Crime’ and even miles better than the tedious ‘Blood Work’ which remains one of his weakest efforts. Basically, it was once again a rather far-fet” read more
