An average movie

To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this movie and maybe I should re-watch it at some point. Basically, Clint Eastwood had reached some personal high as a director but, after making 3 of his best movies back-to-back. However, for some reasons,  it seems that the guy thought it was enough for the time being and he started to direct back to make some decent but slightly underwhelming flicks and it would take him about 8 years to finally impress us again with a downright masterpiece. In fact, to be honest, this was actually a pretty decent thriller, rather well made and quite entertaining. At least, it was better than ‘True Crime’ and even miles better than the tedious ‘Blood Work’ which remains one of his weakest efforts. Basically, it was once again a rather far-fetched story but Eastwood was immensely charismatic, Gene Hackman was solid as usual and it was a fun flick to watch, no more no less. To conclude, even though it was definitely a minor effort for Eastwood, it is definitely one of my guily pleasures and I think it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre or if you are interested in this director.
