Braveheart (1995)
Seen this before many times, but i had to watch this again. This movie closes to perfection in my mind. Great story, great scenes, great acting.. cant wish much more.

Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
I didn't expect this one to be so good. I heard some good things but indian movie? Anyway very well done story, succesfull filming and not bad acting either. Surprise of the year for sure! As bonus Freida Pinto is one of the hottest and most sweet actresses. The hero is about to win a Who Wants to Be A Millionaire competition, when before the last question he is accused of cheating and taken into questioning by police. Then he tells his story how he grew up and how he claims that he knew the answers to the questions.. this will make sense when you watch it, recommended!

RoboCop (1987)
While effects don't stand test of time totally, they still do the job. Very good action film with some gore to beef things up! Totally recommended.

Slightly too much computer generated scenes especially in large battles.. but it's only thing bothers me a bit. Story's very good, actings mostly great.. this movie has depth!

Gran Torino (2008)
This one was much better than I expected. Clint is an old angry war veteran who hates immigrants when asian family moves to house next to his.. theres plenty of good humour as well as serious side of the movie, both work well together. Acting, mainly Clint's great performance, makes this movie so good.

Seen this years ago last time before tonight, anyway I think its more entertaining that you'd expect. Stallone and Snipes do good work, action scenes are fine and there are some good jokes. This movie does hilariously present how in future society is all pussified and everything that's even slightly unhealthy, like cigarettes.. or even salt, is illegal. No sex, no cursing, no smoking. Then these two "cavemen" Stallone and Snipes, who have been deep frozen as punishment due crimes in 1996, are melt and let loose in future many decades later.. Stallone as an ex-cop is set to catch the bad guy, Snipes.. you need a maniac to catch a maniac.

Miller's Crossing (1990)
Pretty good but not so much gangster film in my opinion. Focuses more within relationships and relations between the characters than gangsterism and crime itself.

Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
Everyone knows Die Hard movies.. as a stand-alone action movie this is ok. Entertaining but not awesome by any level. But I have to say I was slightly disappointed this being Die Hard-movie. I don't think it's violent enought, which would add the taste. Willis's acting is good as always but other than that I find the acting really mediocre. Plot doesn't deserve much mention either. I found action and scenes and humour to say, in Die Hard III more fun.. This is just decent Hollywood action flick. Not bad by any means, but not stunningly good, or doesn't even stand out the masses.

Space Cowboys (2000)
I think this movie doesn't get mentioned very often. It's about old astronauts, who failed it to get space rocket when they were young. Now they have change to prove themselves again when they are offered a mission to go fix a satellite in space that uses old technology only these old men can deal with. They only have to pass all the tests to prove, that they're still fit for the space mission.. doesn't sound very interesting? Idea is kinda "so so", but the acting and some great humour is what makes this movie quite enjoyable. The cast is also good. I liked it.

The Road (2009) (2009)
I think that this scene about life after nuclear fallout could had made really interesting movie.. but The Road kinda fails to use all the potential. The Road is nicely filmed and leaves you to expect all the time, that something awesome and exciting is about to happen but never really does. It's a little slow tempo of a side story and at times bit boring too. Also the boy thats dragged along the whole movie succeeds to be really irritating. But as said filming and scenery are pretty good though and other than that irritating kid, the cast acts fine. Average movie.

Rööperi (2009)
Must be one of the best finnish movies coming out lately. That doesn't automatically mean that its good though. Story feels kinda ok but the filming doesn't present it at its full potential, could've been better movie. I mean really, this one just feels its fine but could had been much more. I think it mixes regular finnish movies and little Hollywood style together, at least tries to. But if you like finnish movies even a little like Matti or Häjyt, I suggest to watch this one. Not bad at all.
dungeoncrawler's rating:

The Frisco Kid (1979)
Watchable older flick but very average. Not Harrison Ford's best ones.. movie just keeps plodding onwards with some decent humour once in a while and not much action included.
dungeoncrawler's rating:

Batman Returns (1992)
This is a mixed bag. Has some good scenes and filming, but story is just too weird and pointless. It doesn't make sense at all to me. This movie succeeds to be stupid and irritating, but also well filmed similarly. Weird one.
dungeoncrawler's rating:

Day of the Dead (2008)
This is not a real remake of the old classic but feels more like seperate movie, just riding with the name of the old Day of The Dead for moneymaking purpose. DotD fails to create any real suspension and horror. Zombies are not even real zombies but a humans infected by virus, like "raged" men. When the "zombies" were hitting the ventilation pipes with brooms, when the people were crawling in them, i had seen enought.. not to mention that they run fast as hell..
