Too Many Remakes, Reboots,...... Part 2

Another blatant attempt to capitalize from nostalgia. I don't care which gender the main characters are. I'm just sick of the lack of originality.

While I realize that it's only fiction, the idea of the Red Dawn remake is just fucking stupid. The original Red Dawn wasn't great, but the plot was at least a little plausible. But the North Koreans invading the U.S.A.? They wouldn't make it past the Pacific coast. They would get slaughtered by MS-13 and other gangs, assuming they don't immediately defect en masse.

This remake was an obvious attempt to capitalize from nostalgia. The character played by Jaden Smith was clearly learning kung fu, not karate, from Jackie Chan's character. So why was this entitled the Karate Kid? You know the answer.

This remake is OK, there was no way it was going to top the Charles Bronson classic.

While I only vaguely remember the two films, the original Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes) was certainly superior.

Seriously, what's up with all the American remakes of far superior foreign films?

I haven't seen this one, but I seriously doubt that it is even half as great as the original.
A PG-13 Robocop? You've got to be fucking kidding! José Padilha did an excellent job on the Elite Squad movies and if he were given free reign on the Robocop remake, it might be interesting to see.

As I said in a previous list, this remake, while still shitty, isn't as shitty as I expected it to be. It is, however, nowhere near the quality of the original.

I haven't seen the French original Le Totale! yet but I would bet that it is much better than this big cliché of a movie.

The original movie was actually good. Was this remake really necessary?
