1st Runner Up - as George Valentin in "The Artist"
Perfection in black and white - debonaire, suave, funny. It was a pleasure watching him in this role. It made me excited to see more of his films.

2nd Runner Up - as Peppy Miller in "The Artist"
A vision - brassy and sensitive all at once, with great comic timing and a look so classic just he smile transported me.

As John in "Rhinoceros"

Mostel is a storm of talent - you absolutely cannot take your eyes off of him in any performance. He can transmogrify from bombastic to delicate in a flash, seamlessly. One of the great actors of all time.

As Billy Costigan in "The Departed"
Like I said, I normally discount anything with DiCaprio in it. But his performance in this movie changed my mind. He was great - made the movie worth watching.

Also, great work in "Blood Diamond". Complex and so dishearteningly human. If only they'd cut out the tedious "love" scenes with Jennifer Connelly.

As Don King in "Don King: Only in America"

Rhames controls the screen like you've never seen - maybe because no other movie really gave him the chance.
Ving Rhames is another one of those hard working actors (doing 5-6+ movies a year) who really doesn't get enough credit or enough opportunities to show his chops.
Very glad to see hime on this list

As Jin-seok Lee in "Tae Guk Gi"

As Gilda in "For Colored Girls"

All the performances in this movie we great, but Rashad stood out for me. She was so charismatic and captivating, even as a member of an ensemble, as the grounded wise woman (a normally more marginalized character profile). Rashad surprised me again and again, and I loved watching her.

As Jin-tae Lee in "Tae Guk Gi"

As Solomon Vandy in "Blood Diamond".
Hounsou had heart and passion; even as one of the main characters, he was not given enough screen time.

As Claudia in "Snow White: A Tale of Terror"
Sigourney Weaver (ooo..., it's so much fun typing her name) brings a unique life, drive, and purpose to a familiar, stock character.
From the beginning we see the masked motivations of this step-mother-to-be bear might be more of shadow than light.
I'm only sad her "old woman" persona got so little screen time... Weaver makes her welcomable, endearing, and so-ho-ho creepy.

As Rachel in "Blade Runner"

It's amazing watching this twice. At first, Young is so tight and proper, much like her costume; the perfect film noir ingenue. But watch her again. You'll see an incredibly subtle mechanical air to all her movements. She breaths in and out with every motion, as though calculating each one. It;s really quite brilliant.

As Frank Costello in "The Departed"
Kinda reminded me of my boss. Jack didn't miss a beat in this one.

As Böse Königin in "7 Zwerge" & "7 Zwerge - Der Wald ist nicht genug"
Hagen's deliciously detestable Evil Queen is a bitch explosion of over-the-top glam-trash. Marylin Manson and Lady GaGa, take notes. Nothing new for Hagen - her career started in the 80's New Wave scene:

Hagen is also the real life mother of Cosma Shiva Hagen, who plays Snow White.

in "The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen"

He rolled with the punches, and dealt them out - Literally.
Absolutely stealing the show, with a beguilingly cocky innocence, Mike Tyson was the outstanding star of the show.

As Inez in "Midnight in Paris"
A spoiled bitch (Inez), yes, but far and away a complete and striking performance from McAdams. A secondary character, but a first-rate job.

As Tschakko in "7 Zwerge"
Nontschew has great comic timing and expressions. His spastic boisterousness ties together the pick-and-mix of German comedians which make up the Seven Dwarfs.

As Daisy in "Rhinoceros"

As Sven, Yes Man #3 in "The World's Greatest Lover"

I love his Swedish accent "j

This guy is in everything! And he's so cool. It's always a treat to see him in a movie, even if it's just a small part.

He's also in "Blade Runner"

As Clara das Neves in "Histórias Que Nossas Babás Não Contavam"
Let's face it, Adele Fátima is way too hot not to be on this list!

Even though he wasn't in "Hitman", the imitation of Zane on the DVD cover made me consistently more interested throughout the film.
