Friday afternoon re-watch. The cinematography is so stunning. The music of horror and monstrosity without the grotesque, violent but stylish.

Wow, some damn good acting in this one. The casting is perfect and the characters are so well fleshed. Personally, I loved the rugged faces of the men in contrast to the refined women, especially the main character's wife who provides one of the best supporting role performances I've ever seen, with not much screen time to boot. The main villain of the piece and the protagonist are just day and night in so many ways. This under-watched film definitely sings musically through the great performance of the actors, writing and direction.

The visuals are amazing and Rey(Daisy Ridley)is drop dead gorgeous but the writing is meh at best and maudlin at worst.
