"A young funeral clerk is bored with his life and builds a world of elaborate lies to compensate for it. This is tagged as a classic kitchen sink drama. It's a good portrayal of working class life up in Yorkshire in the early 60's. While Billy is not a likable person due to the way he treats people, they all seem to put up with him and give him a second, third and fourth chance.
