The Badass Cast of The Expendables

Barney "The Schizo" Ross



"Whatever weight I lost, you found, pal."

Role: Leader of The Expendables.

Weapons of Choice: Colt SAA Quick-draw, a pair of Modified Kimber Gold Combat II pistols, FN F2000 Tactical, Noveske Diplomat.

Most Legendary Moment: While holding Sandra hostage, Munroe spurts out an entire monologue defending his actions and inquires why Barney decided to come after him. Barney responds with "I didn't come after you, dipshit, I came for her!" before drawing his Colt SAA and blowing six holes in Munroe's chest.

Lee Christmas



"Next time, I'll deflate all your balls, friend."

Role: Barney's second-in-command.

Weapons of Choice: Combat knives, Heckler & Koch MP5K-PDW, Beretta 92G Elite, Noveske Diplomat

Most Legendary Moment: Garza's soldiers, along with The Brit, Munroe and Paine, are all on a dock after Christmas and Barney escape in their sea-plane. But Barney and Christmas turn the plane around. Christmas proceeds to use the plane's guns to take down a bunch of soldiers, then dumps fuel on the dock, and uses a flare gun to ignite the fuel. Huge explosion.

Ying Yang



"Everything is harder for me. When I'm hurt, wound is bigger, 'cause I'm smaller. When I travel I need to go farther."

Role: A member of The Expendables who specialises in hand-to-hand combat.

Weapons of Choice: Fists, legs, Noveske Diplomat, FN P90TR, Brügger&Thomet MP-9.

Most Legendary Moment: Ying Yang uses an axe kick to break The Brit's neck. Fucking badass...

Gunner Jensen



"What do you wear, size 3? Bring it, happy feet!"

Role: A former member of The Expendables who is sacked due to drug problems.

Weapons of Choice: A machete, Serbu Super Shorty, M79 Grenade Launcher.

Most Legendary Moment: During a car chase which pays direct homage to Cobra, the man sitting next to Gunner tells him "You're dead, junkie!". In response, Gunner - while still driving his vehicle - breaks the man's neck with his foot and retorts "INSECT!"

Hale Caesar



"Right, they've got a small army. What have we got, four and a half men?"

Role: A member of The Expendables.

Weapons of Choice: AA-12 Shotgun loaded with Frag-12 explosive rounds, Saiga 12.

Most Legendary Moment: With three of his fellow team members trapped and pinned down by Garza's soldiers, Hale Caesar enters with his AA-12 Shotgun and blows the men to pieces. Limbs are blown off, and blood is all over the place. Once the deed is done, he tells them "Remember this shit at Christmas!".

Toll Road



"It ain't easy being green."

Role: A member of The Expendables.

Weapons of Choice: Noveske Diplomat, Heckler & Koch MP5K, stories about his deformed ears.

Most Legendary Moment: He engages in a brawl with Paine towards the film's end. As the brutal fight draws to an end, Toll Road knocks Paine into nearby fire. Despite Paine being on fire, Toll Road finishes him off by punching him.

Tool



"After taking all them lives, here was one life I could've saved but I didn't. And I realised later... If I'd have saved that women, I might've, I dunno, saved what was left of my soul, you know."

Role: Tool is the Expendables' handler. He gives them their assignments, and offers a tattooing service.

Weapons of Choice: Tattoo pen, throwing knives.

Most Legendary Moment: It's late at night in his tattoo parlour with Barney and Christmas, and he challenges Christmas to a knife match. After Christmas has his half-hearted turn, Tool beats Christmas before casually taking a phone call.

James Munroe



"I am making you rich. And being wealthy is very good. It allows people to be the real asswipes nature intended them to be."

Role: James Munroe is a rogue CIA operative who pulls Garza's strings.

Weapons of Choice: Glock 17, yelling.

Most Legendary Moment: Whilst holding Sandra hostage in the palace, Munroe guns down Garza before killing a couple of his bodyguards too.

Paine



"Real tough guy, aren't you? I said ARE YOU A REAL TOUGH GUY? Look at me you piece of trash. How many men you got?"

Role: Head of security detail at Garza's palace.

Weapons of Choice: Heckler and Koch USP sidearm.

Most Legendary Moment: Towards the end of his brawl with Barney Ross, Paine charges at Barney at top speed and throws him against some bricks at full force. The charge was so brutal that, while filming, the charge broke Stallone's neck.

The Brit



"You know... If you didn't have this Kevlar vest, your insides are gonna be like fucking mush."

Role: A bodyguard for Munroe.

Weapons of Choice: Fists, legs, 9mm sidearm.

Most Legendary Moment: It may lead to his death, but one must admire his determination as he tries to fight off both Christmas and Ying Yang while he has a knife in his back.

Mr. Church



"You guys aren't gonna start sucking each other's dicks, are you?"

Role: A front for the CIA who hires The Expendables to take out General Garza.

Weapons of Choice: His tongue.

Most Legendary Moment: Barney declares a high price for the assignment. Church threatens Barney by telling him if he takes the money and doesn't deliver, he and his people will chop him up into "little fucking dog treats".

Trench



"I'm busy anyway, so give this job to my friend here, he loves playing in a jungle. Right?!"

Role: Leader of another Expendables-like squad of mercenaries who meets with Church.

Weapons of Choice: Taunting.

Most Legendary Moment: During the meeting with Church and Barney, he takes pleasure in flaunting his knowledge of the assignment and thus annoying the hell out of Barney.
