To be honest I was very traumatized by this kitty the first time I saw this film (along with my mother heheh). I was a lot younger and the cat's death was very upsetting (much more upsetting than the child tbh). I mean I am still upset and slighty traumatized by the death of my own cat. But as I grew I also grew more fond of this movie (it's still unsettling in certain ways and i like it) and the cat is just by far the most memorable animal from all the horror films I've seen.

Blade II (2002)

Oh man I thought about this one for like forever. Most early encounters of the horror type are so weird and not even horror, just me being a little wuss over silly things. But as I thought about legit horror movies I remember from my childhood, Blade came to mind. As a youngster I remember the vampires being very creepy and scary, but I really loved Blade. I loved the show and the movies and it's gotta be one of my earliest encounters with the horror genre. Maybe that's why I can't even completely hate Trinity.

Tokyo Gore Police (2008)

Definitely a tie between this one and when Ash cuts his hand off with the chainsaw, followed by the iconic fitting of the chainsaw on the hand. I mean there's loads more but these two stood out in my mind. I chose Tokyo Gore Police 'cause I really like the scene and the heroine doing her thing. Also I've chosen Evil Dead on so many other parts of this list so I wanted some variety. Of course Tokyo Gore Police excels on the katana slashing scenes but I just really like the chainsaw scene too.

Anybody who knows me would guess this immediately and there's no argument here. I didn't even think of any other doctor than the darling old Dr. Lecter. My very favorite in so many other genres too.
drugs's rating:

He's not really a horror director and I'd say my more genre appropriate choice would be either Romero, Carpenter, Tod Browning (just because i frickin looooove Freaks and Dracula) or even Miike. But really the reason I decided to put Hitchcock here was Frenzy, Psycho and the Birds. Particularly Frenzy is my personal favorite and I chose that for the next section. Psycho is such awesome and pure horror that Hitchcock deserves to be considered somewhat of a horror director too. Alfred Hitchcock presents also had some great shorts I'd consider to be of the horror genre.

Frenzy (1972)

I know too many people who would find this movie "lame" or "boring" or "not even scary". But I've always had an appreciation for Hitchcock's movies and yeah sure it's not really scary since I myself at least am very used to watching gore and have seen a lot more scary stuff than this one. But here's the awesome part, it's not scary but even to me the movie is deeply unsettling. And that comes from the genius that is Alfred Hitchcock. He has always been the master of making you feel uneasy without really seeing anything directly. It took me a long while to actually watch this movie but it blew my mind when I finally saw it. It was eery, creepy and just very unsettling. I fell in love with the movie and it instantly became one of my Hitchcock favorites. Hitchcock has a way of getting to me, I still remember certain episodes of Hitchcock Presents that haunt my mind, hahah.
drugs's rating:

Alien (1979)

Ripley of course. Ash would also fit the bill even tho he is the reluctant hero. And I really love Lionel from Dead Alive as the hero too.
drugs's rating:

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010)

A lot of movies would fit this category, like Shaun of The Dead, Zombieland and even my favorites Dead Alive and Evil Dead movies are the best comedy horrors I've seen. But I chose Tucker and Dale vs. Evil because out of all of these it's possibly the funniest one. Not better, but funniest. And I haven't really seen anything like this that was as good. Wow, this was a tough one.
drugs's rating:

Cujo (1983)

Well when I finally got to see Cujo I was expecting it to be a lot more exciting. I just ended up being really annoyed. The subject matter of course it upsetting but I just didn't enjoy the movie as much as I would've liked to.
drugs's rating:

Ichi the Killer (2002)

I'd say both Kakihara and Ichi are pretty messed up and definitely psychotic. But Ichi has some even more unsettling characteristics. Ichi hasn't quite come to terms with his psycopathy the way Kakihara has, so that's why he is my first choice.

drugs's rating:

Dead Alive (1992)

Tokyo Gore Police would've been my second choice. But hey, dat lawnmower scene is iconic.
drugs's rating:

This genre has one of the creepiest films I've seen and this wasn't an easy choice. But this is one of my overall favorites so I chose this one.

Any Troma film could be here and some of you might think this was the most obvious choice ever but it really just is the cheesiest stuff I've ever seen. I was torn between Terror Firmer and Poultrygeist, but came to the conclusion that Poultrygeist is not only more ridiculous and offensive but it's also a frickin musical(!?). Can you get any cheesier? "OH ARBIE, You're the best dry humper in school!"
drugs's rating:

I figured based on the rating of this movie it's considered bad? But I like it, so I chose it to represent this section.
drugs's rating:

Hellraiser (1987)

Since this is considered to be one of the essential movies of the horror genre my expectations were way up for this one. But I was disappointed. It's not a bad movie but also not as good as I thought. Pinhead and the rest of the cenobites look awesome tho.
drugs's rating:

The Mist (2007)

I would've chosen Sleepaway Camp but I am the biggest wuss when it comes to that ending. I am still so traumatized, haha. I don't even want to see pictures of the ending, it's way too creepy and unsettling to watch. So I wussed out and chose the next best thing so I wouldn't have to look at _that face_. Still, the ending of The Mist is pretty brutal so I just had to choose it.
drugs's rating:

This one's here probably because I had too high hopes for this film overall. It was a solid movie but the big twist wasn't that big of a hit for me.
drugs's rating:

This was a tie between Grandpa Sawyer and Ezra Cobb from Deranged. Both are creepy but I think Grandpa Sawyer is even more unsettling and maybe even scary.
drugs's rating:

Favorite horror movie for sure, but overall favorite King movie would be Stand By Me.
drugs's rating:

The Human Centipede (2009) (2010)

Tbh I don't really care for the premise of the movie and it's shock factor. And overall the whole film series seems ridiculous.
