Here was have three tales by Nathaniel Hawthorne and they all seem to have religious implications in them, especially the 2nd tale. All of them are pretty good but I find the last one a bit slow. I think the director did a great job in doing something that Price was so familiar with already and these three tales are some of his best work.

Three horror stories based on the writings of Nathaniel Hawthorne. In the first story titled "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment", Heidegger attempts to restore the youth of himself, his fiancee and his best friend. In "Rappaccini's Daughter", Vincent Price plays a demented father inoculating his daughter with poison so she may never leave her garden of poisonous plants. In the final story "The House of the Seven Gables", the Pyncheon family suffers from a hundred year old curse and the Pyncheon brother returns to his home to search for a hidden vault.

Movies the giraffe watched in 2022: January (38 movies items)

"First viewing - Jan. 17th Paramount+ As much as I love Vincent Price, I wasn't much impressed with this one. All 3 stories were pretty average, and somewhat predictable. They do a great job of capturing the time period, & the cast does a solid job. But by the time the last story came along I was losing interest & even dozed off briefly. It's fine, just nothing essential."
