“I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since there was a decent cast involved and since it was available on Netflix, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, even though I saw years ago ‘Miss Potter’, the biopic starring Renée Zellweger, to be honest, I knew pretty much nothing about Peter Rabbit before watching this movie so I have to admit that I didn’t have much affinity with the material. Anyway, it seems that they took once again a beloved quaint children book and gave it a modern twist which is usually such a misguided approach. In this genre, the hybrid CGI animated/live action features, the only exception would be ‘Paddington’ which was a big critical and commercial success (I didn’t care much for it though). "Much like Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, this movie violated something very near and dear to me, except this one hurt me even more. The classic stories by Beatrix Potter are one of the cornerstones of my childhood, the very definition of wholesome children's drama. Nearby, Peter Rabbit and his assortment of animal friends are determined to continue stealing from the crop, much to the ire of Thomas. Rating: 5.9/10"

"First viewing - Nov. 4th I went into this with low expectations, especially following the other two films, but wound up being pleasantly surprised. That's not to say it's a great film by any means, but of the three films she chose it was easily the best of the bunch. There are some truly funny moments throughout the film, and it has genuine charm at times. Rose Byrne and Domnhall Gleeson are predictably great in their respective roles, and the CGI is mostly well-rendered. It's nothing I'd go ou"

" DVD- 1hr. 35min. First Viewing While he does get a bit more palatable as the film goes on, Peter Rabbit's title character's smugness makes the film, and the character, a bit hard to care about. It's also a weirdly violent film for a, supposed, children's film; not comical enough to be taken as cartoon, not sobering enough to startle. "
