"19.2. 2021 A filmmaker meets an old man who takes his role as Don Quixote way too seriously. Together they engage in all kinds of surrealistc adventures. Terry Gilliam finally finished his problematic project and the end result is mostly just tedious. It's not a traditional film adaptation but the slightly unique main idea isn't enough to keep viewers interested."

"Points of anticipation: Ok, Gilliam's film finally did get made and it technically had a festival release, but I am still waiting for us common folk to get a chance to see it. Result: Have Yet to See Trailer: "

"Trippy in a good way! It is one of those films in which realism and fantasy blend into a spectacular mindfuck. The cast is amazing - Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce and Joana Ribeiro (WooHoo!). "

"È un film di Gilliam e perciò va dove e come vuole lui (alla stregua del Don, no?). Non il miglior lavoro del regista, ma per chi è disposto a lasciarsi andare alle suggestioni autobiografiche (anche a causa di una gestazione ventennale) innestate a Cervantes il premio è una goduria di immaginazione libera da vincoli."

" First Viewing Viewing Date: August 28th Via: iTunes Store Plot: Toby, a disillusioned film director, becomes pulled into a world of time-jumping fantasy when a Spanish cobbler believes him to be Sancho Panza. He gradually becomes unable to tell dreams from reality. Rating: 6.2/10"

"June 8th As to be expected from a Terry Gilliam film, it is wild and whacky and wonderful. Gilliam finished the project he set out to make 25 years ago and he deserves credit for seeing out his vision. The cinematography is beautiful and it is no doubt helped by the amazing locations in which the film is set. Adam Driver is great in the lead role of Sancho. Very funny at times and extremely playful throughout. It is a really good film but it is perhaps a little bit too long winded. Surely Gilli"

"First viewing - April 10th First off, I think we’re all a little in shock that this film even exists. Gilliam’s tried to make it for most of my adult life, and finally overcame all the adversity. Well, I’m happy to report it was worth all the time, effort, and especially the waiting. I’m so glad I caught it on the big screen, and if it returns to theatres here I might catch it again. It’s not quite perfect, but I loved pretty much everything about it and will gladly sing its praises t"

“Like many other movie buffs, I have been waiting to see this movie for almost 20 years. In fact, Terry Gilliam had even been working on this project for about 30 years. Well, I wish I could say it had been worth the wait but, unfortunately, I really struggled to care about the damned thing. Eventually, I wonder how much Gilliam has changed his script and something tells me that the original version starring Jean Rochefort, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis would have been much better but I’m afraid we will never know. Above all, even though there were some good ideas, the damned thing was a mess very difficult to digest. Of course, you could argue that every Gilliam movie is pretty messy but the fact that it was just way too long (about 140 mins) without really going anywhere didn’t help” read more
