A good movie

This movie is pretty much the stuff of legend. Indeed, the production on this movie was so messed up and convoluted (it has become somehow a trademark with Terry Gilliam) that the making-off has maybe become even more notorious than the movie itself. For example, after many delays, the film was already $2 million over budget before they even started to shoot and, eventually, the budget started wit... read more

Questo film è davvero fantastico e divertente.

This movie is really fantastic and funny.

Description: Monty Python's Terry Gilliam (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) directs this wild, wild version of the stories of Baron Munchausen, pushing the limits of 1989 special effects technology to bring us such sights as a horse divided in half and running around in two parts, and a giant Robin Williams with his head flying off his shoulders. Basically, this is a treat for Gilliam fans, as the sustaining idea of the film runs out of steam, and manic energy alone keeps the momentum going. Casual viewers might find it tedious after awhile. There are nice parts for fellow Python Eric Idle, as well as Sting, Alison Steadman, and Uma Thurman a ... (more)

" The fantastic tale of an 18th-century aristocrat, his talented henchmen, and a little girl in their efforts to save a town from defeat by the Turks. Being swallowed by a giant sea-monster, journeying to the moon, dancing with Venus, and escaping from the Grim Reaper are only some of the improbable adventures. The film, featured earlier performances by Alison Steadman, Uma Thurman, Sting, and Sarah Polley, the film is notoriously known as one of the most expensive films, to be made at time. "

" First Viewing Viewing Date: June 8th Via: Amazon Prime Video Plot: An account of Baron Munchausen's supposed travels and fantastical experiences across late 18th-century Europe with his band of misfits. Rating: 7.9/10 Why Did I Watch It? This is one of Terry Gilliam's most iconic directorial efforts, and I always intended to watch it. After seeing one of my Letterboxd friends rate it, I decided to just rent it before I forget about it again."

"Re-watch - Dec. 2nd My daughter wanted to watch another movie after The Grinch, so I insisted we watch something non-Christmas-y and she chose this after I told her it's from the same people as Time Bandits. She wound up loving it, especially Eric Idle's character who made her laugh almost every time he spoke. I still dig the hell out of it as well."
