Esta película es un melodrama en toda regla. Amantha Starr (Noreen Corcoran en su fase infantil e Yvonne De Carlo ya adulta) es una niña hija de un hacendado caracterizado por dar un trato muy 'humano' a sus esclavos negros, ya que no les somete al látigo de sus capataces.

I wanna think that Walsh would've survive the war and the secession as Gable here, with every contradiction and affection. He's superb when confrotns De Carlo with every test and true. It's more effective than making love to her.
