*First time watch*
A true sci-fi classic.
The concept is & the social commentary is simply genius. The acting is really good as well, especially from the main actors.
Charlton Heston is awesome.

Two Evil Eyes (1990)
Date: 7 December
*re-watch*
Watched it today again with my English class. It's really flawed, but I really like it. I prefer the first segment, adapted from the story "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar". I also enjoy "The Black Cat", but it's definitively the weaker of the stories.

The Road (2009)
Date: 12 December
*First time watch*
One of the most depressing & realistic "end of the world"-movies I've ever seen. The bond between the father & son is what really got to me when I was watching it, because the parts were written & acted with credibility. Also, you never get told or shown what really happened to the world, everything is just a barren wasteland.
It's also really easy to put yourself into the character's place, especially of you're a parent or a child.
The realism & intensity of the film makes it way more disturbing & scary than any other recent horror film that's been made by Hollywood.
The moral aspects are well executed, since the child wants to help the people they meet, while the father shoves everyone away. It also shows that people will start stealing from each other, and start cannibalizing the weak ones.
All in all, a terrific film.

8 Mile (2002)
Date: 14 December
*First time watch*
Watched it with my English class.
To be honest, I really don't like rap, but I thought this one was pretty good. Eminem does actually a good job at acting, and the rest of the cast is good as well.
The story is just a typical underdog-story, but executed decently.

Sherlock Holmes (2009)
Date: 22 December
*First time watch*
A really entertaining thrill-ride. The story is interesting, I especially liked the occult elements, and the acting is truly great. My favorite character must be Lord Blackwood, portrayed by Mark Strong. The visuals were gorgeous, even though a lot of it was kind of obvious CGI.

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
Date: 23 December
*Re-watch*
This film is really nostalgic to me, and I watch it every Christmas. The muppet character's are great as always, and Michael Caine does a good job as Scrooge. The songs are catchy and really well-written.

Pitch Black (2000)
Date: 23 December
*Re-watch*
I haven't watched this flick in many years, but I still liked it really much. The monsters are really cool, except from some "not-so-good"-CGI at parts, and Vin Diesel is really bad-ass as the anti-hero, Riddick.
Haven't watched The Chronicles of Riddick yet, and re-watching this one really makes me want to.

*First time watch*
A truly great and mature animated movie. The characters are sympathetic, and you really feel sorry for them when something bad happens. The story is also great, and I really dig the post-apocalyptic scenery & atmosphere.

An unique film that reaches high levels of surrealism at times. I won't say too much about it, since it'll spoil the movie for people who haven't seen it.

A really funny and heartwarming film.
I hadn't seen it in years until I re-visited it again today, and I loved it more now, than the first time I saw it.
