The Lady from Shanghai (1947)

If you like any of Orson Welles films then you should see this one. It's a really entertaining film-noir with an interesting ending.

They Might Be Giants (1971)

Very entertaining movie about a guy who thinks he's Sherlock Holmes. This is also the movie that the band They Might Be Giants got their name from.

Despite the fact that this movie won an Oscar and is in the 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, I still think this movie belongs on the list because besides that I don't hear many people talk about this movie. This is a unique thriller with excellent performances from Donald Sutherland and Jane Fonda.

The Poseidon Adventure (1972)

This is the best disaster movie ever made. It has a great cast and like the title says, it truly is an adventure.

The Gambler (1974)

Classic movie that portrays gambling addiction like no other movie has and James Caan is great as always.

The Longest Yard (1974)

Even though I hate football, I still think this is a very well-made movie with an awesome performance from Burt Reynolds.

Gene Wilder's most underrated movie. If you found movies like Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles funny then you should give this movie a chance.

Which Way Is Up? (1978)

This movie is pretty different compared to Richard Pryor's other movies. He can play 3 different characters very well in this movie.

Straight Time (1978)

If you are a Dustin Hoffman fan, you owe it to yourself to see this movie. It is a brilliant character study film that has his most overlooked performance in his career.
moviewatcher122's rating:

Really funny dark comedy with Burt Reynolds and Dom Deluise as the crazy mental patient. Burt Reynolds also does a good job behind the camera as well.
moviewatcher122's rating:

Coma (1978)

The screenplay for this movie was written by Michael Crichton and it shows especially near the second half of this movie. It's a really tense and suspenseful thriller with lots of interesting ideas and Michael Douglas has a supporting role in this movie and even back then he was just as good of an actor as he is now.

The Boys from Brazil (1978)

This movie has Gregory Peck as a Nazi and Laurence Olivier as a Nazi hunter. That's all you need to know.

The Dogs of War (1980)

It's no The Deer Hunter, but it's still an underrated war movie and Christopher Walken is great as always.
moviewatcher122's rating:

It's far from Al Pacino's best movie, but it is a really well done movie that is still as shocking as it was back then.

It's Lee Marvin on a manhunt against Charles Bronson in the middle of snowy Canada and a movie with that just has to be good, right? Well this movie wouldn't be on this list if that wasn't the case.

Strange Brew (1983)

While this movie is pretty well-known in Canada, I still think it's overlooked and it's probably one of the funniest movies to come from Canada.

A huge list of unseen gems that I think are good. While not all of these movies may be "great", but some of them are hence why great is in the title instead of good. As some of them are too good to be just labeled as good.
