The best Dracula....

3 months, 2 weeks ago at Aug 16 13:40
I saw this not only because of the brilliant story but also because of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, two of the best actors I know. And I was not disappointed at all, in fact although I do have respect for the 1931 film and like the 1992 film this 1958 Dracula is the best version. It has atmospheric lighting and cinematography and the costumes and sets are wonderful colourful. The score is al... read more

It has atmospheric lighting and cinematography and the costumes and sets are wonderful colourful. The score is also very haunting while never becoming too grandiose, the script is not stilted and flows well and the story apart from the odd slow moment draws you in and does a good job condensing the source material. It is beautifully directed by Terrence Fisher, and there is some very good, great even from some, acting. Jonathan, Mina and Lucy are believable and written in a convincing manner. But this Dracul” read more

Horrorfest 2019 (27 movies items)

" Don't dare see it alone!' This movie was very funny, a wonderful little slice of horror history. It's goofy for sure, not a real scare to be had, campy in the way only a sincere retro flick can be. Still had a great time with it, it was the perfect movie to put on while my girlfriend and I where cooking dinner, the perfect lighthearted Halloween movie to keep in the festive mood. I want to see more of Cushing and Lee, my list of Hammer Horror is more to-do than done. I also saw there was"

Movies I watched in March 2019 (30 movies items)

" Date: 3/4/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Rewatch Note: Probably my second favorite Dracula movie next to the original Nosferatu. The movie is top notch from start to finished with great acting, awesome cinematography and one of the oldest movie to have some level of gore in it. Christopher Lee as Dracula is just perfect in my opinion. If you haven't seen it, check it out."
