What's it about?: A Naval veteran arrives home from war unsettled and uncertain of his future - until he is tantalized by The Cause and its charismatic leader.
What do I think?: It will surely be nominated for Best Actor, the battle will go between Joaquin Phoenix and Daniel Day-Lewis. For Best Director as well, PTA is a great director and I'll not be surprised if he wins. Maybe Best Supporting Actor, Screenplay...we'll see.
Nominations: -Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role - Joaquin Phoenix
-Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role - Philip Seymour Hoffman
-Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role - Amy Adams
It looks like Paul Thomas Anderson didn't get a nomination, pitty. No Best Picture nominee, I must say a little surprised but all the other nominations I expected.

What do I think?: The Academy doesn't really nominate Quentin Tarantino's films but I think this one will not be one of those films. I know everybody thinks that Leonardo DiCaprio is gonna be nominated for Best Supporting Actor but I really don't think so. Not because I don't think DiCaprio is great actor, is because the Academy doesn't seem to nominate him every time he makes a good performance and I think that's how is gonna be this year too.

Best Achievement in Sound Editing - Wylie Stateman
Best Motion Picture of the Year - Stacey Sher, Reginald Hudlin, Pilar Savone
