When I first saw John Wick, it immediately became my favorite action movie. Then I saw Chapter 2 and THAT immediately became my favorite. I have now seen this twice in the theater, my first time ever to do that for any film. Chapter 2 is an incredibly worthy sequel, better than the first, and has moved to number 1 in my all-time favorites. Spectacular film.

Mark my words, this will be the horror movie of the year for both critics and fans alike! This was an excellent movie. For being a little over 2 hours long, it was paced pretty great too. No lags. The characters were loveable, the gore was great, the setting and story all too real. I can't wait for Chapter 2!

Jigsaw (2017)
This is my all-time favorite franchise so when I heard they were coming out with a new movie after 7 years I was so excited I could barely stand the wait! It was definitely worth it though as I feel they tried something new and different but still stuck to the same Saw we all know and love.

Brake (2012)
You have to have a very compelling story and a great actor to be able to carry off literally a one-man movie such as this one. The story was suspenseful and it was a twist within a twist. I enjoyed it very much.

This is technically a re-watch but I haven't seen it for at least a decade so I'm counting it as new. This is an awesome franchise and a great way to start it! Great acting, great action, intense plot. All around fantastic movie.

Hellraiser (1987)
What a totally awesome and unique horror movie. I can definitely say I've never seen anything like it, but in a good way. I can't believe it took me so long to finally get around to it!

I just really loved this movie! It was super fun and strangely cute. The clowns were fun to watch and their methods of death were fun. I long for a sequel!

Better Watch Out (2016)
This was kind of predictable in that I knew even before I watched the movie where this was going to go. It was still quite a fun ride, if just a little bit slow to start off. Overly grotesque but highly entertaining. I recommend.

47 Meters Down (2017)
An excellent movie all around although I really was very disappointed by the last few minutes. I thought it was going so great. Would have given it a complete 10/10 but had to take off for the lackluster ending.

When I first watched the movie, I thought it was good but not great. As I think about it months after I watched it, it is much better than I originally thought. Danielle Harris is excellent in this and the overall tone throughout the movie is great.

This is one of those movies that just has a great story period. No matter who does it, it can hardly be a failure. I had already seen the original and was excited for this one to come out. The train looked glamorous and like I said, I already loved the story. Great acting, beautiful scenery as well!

Tales of Halloween (2015)
Such a fun little compilation of horror shorts, I don't think there's a bad one in the bunch. Most anthology type movies of late are hit or miss, and this one is a definite hit! Nice blend of comedy and horror.

I know a lot of people don't like this movie in the series, but I absolutely loved it and it's my first time ever seeing it. I loved Nyah and I thought she and Ethan had great chemistry. I wish she had come back for the third movie.

Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)
This picks off immediately after the first one and unlike the other movies in the series, it has the same tone as the first. It is very unsettling and creepy at times, but that's what made it a great movie!

Killjoy 3 (2010)
Full Moon movies are either very very very bad or so bad they are very very fun. This falls in the latter. One of the few FMF hits and decent effects all things considered.

Happy Death Day (2015)
This was everything the trailer made it out to be, although I found myself having a hard time liking the main character. It's a very unique premise though and I give it props for trying to be different, yet still the same slashers we know and love.

A little slow, not much character involvement and virtually no gore. I still enjoyed it for what it was though. I am incredibly confused by the ending though, I feel an important scene was cut out as it doesn't make much sense to me.

The Neon Demon (2016)
Um...wow. That's all one can really say after viewing this. Most people I encounter either love or hate this movie, there's no middle ground. Personally I loved it. Visually stunning, acting pretty good, phenomenal music, shocking ending. And to think, I just watched this for Keanu...

Sinister (2012)
A quite atmospheric and tense movie. Throughout it all, you're never really sure exactly what is going on. But it's very well executed, and it is very gripping.ย

I always really enjoy Hallmark movies, at least overall but I especially love their mysteries based off cozy books (which happen to be my favorites). The Gourmet Detective movie series is my favorite of theirs as Dylan and Brooke have excellent chemistry. This one was super fun.

Zombie's dialogue is truly dreadful, but once you get past the zillion curse words in a row and get right into the action it's pretty dang good. I still prefer the original by far, but this is definitely a great way to do a remake in terms of violence. Very gritty.

Hellraiser: Bloodline (1996)
This was a very unique story (Hellraiser is in general) but I loved where they were going with this one and Angelique is my favorite character of the series. I wish we had seen more of her.

This was a good movie despite most having gone into it with low expectations. I liked the ending a lot and I'm really excited to see the Director's Cut. I wish people had given it more of a chance.

Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens (2016)
I thought this was a super fun movie for what it was. I do wish more of it actually happened in Vegas as that was some fun and colorful scenery and I liked the camera work. But overall it was everything I expected it to be and a great popcorn movie.

This was...okay. Better than average I guess, but not really everything I expected it to be. There was some weird humor throughout and the tone of the movie didn't really match what I thought it should. I loved the effects and the acting was good. There were SOME funny moments, but they just felt out of place to me.

The Bye Bye Man (2017)
To be frank, I think most people voted this movie low and/or didn't like it because of the silly name. Which in itself to do such a thing is silly. I actually really liked this movie, it was less teen PG-13 than I thought it would be and the end is pretty dark. People should give it more of a change.

I've got a soft spot for Garfield and a very soft spot for JLH, so these two things combined make for a fun time. This was a pretty decent movie, kids or not.

Exposed (2016)
I went into this movie probably like everyone else thinking it was a Keanu cop drama but it most definitely was not. For my own personal reasons I was thrown off by the constant switching between subtitles and not, the movie was edited very poorly (which I know now that this was Lionsgate's doing), but for the most part I followed along pretty easy. I gave it a higher score for the nice way it wrapped up at the end. And Keanu.

I wasn't a super fanatic of the previous Ring movies, though I did think they were good. But I still was excited to see this. It was a little disappointing, eventhough I still actually liked it.

Again, Danielle Harris is excellent but this one falls just a little bit short of 4 for me. I really, really loved the car chase scene in the woods - beautifully done with great visuals and music but the story was kinda dull and not that believable.

While She Was Out (2009)
This was a pretty good thriller with some surprisingly good gore, but it did start off awful slow and there was some weird stuff going on in the end with the 2 main characters but other than that pretty solid.

Friend Request (2016)
This movie was just kind of there...it wasn't awful, the gore was pretty good, the story mediocre. It had potential to expand even more with the ending but it wasn't really explained.

Leprechaun 4: In Space (1997)
Did anyone need this movie? No. Is it worth a watch? Only if you're a fan of the Leprechaun series, and/or campy B horror movies as I am. I strongly prefer 3 to this one but it is still fun and Leprechaun's quips are fun as always.

Unfortunately this was such a huge letdown for me. It had such great potential. If it had just focused more on the action than the story of the rookie cop, it would have been awesome. Great style, it just fell flat.

Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
I remember this being my favorite Halloween movie aside from the original but when I watched it again this year it definitely is nowhere near. Not as good as I remembered.

This movie wasn't at all what I had expected or hoped for either, but more in the sense that the plot is different than what we are led to believe. The concept of a haunted house built out of crime scenes sounded awesome and I love me some Jessica Lowndes but the story fell very flat and I didn't like the buildup to get to the haunted house. It could have been so much more.
Heather's rating:

This was...just kinda okay. Nothing special, nothing makes it stand out but it wasn't exactly completely awful either. Not worthy to have the "last summer" name attached though.

Halloween II (2009)
Definitely not as good as Zombie's first. In fact, it felt like a totally different movie. I did not like the ~dreamy~ sequences as I thought it was just an excuse to have Sheri Moon in yet another Zombie production. It also added nothing to the story. I wish it had more of the gritty violence 2007's had.

I like "bad" B horror movies, and I thought this looked super fun. But we didn't see enough of the ghost Ribcage and I wasn't really sure why Emma was targeted. It could have been a great bad movie, but there was a lot to be desired after I watched it.
