I both loved and hated this movie. My feelings towards it and about the ways in which it tackles its various subjects has not settled with time. Vice is a political hit job, a takedown of American media, and an indictment of political dynasties throwing us into never-ending conflicts and quagmires over petty squabbles and unchecked greed. Forget unfair prizes for Bale, he is just an example of something I like of McKay: an hoinest effort for findinf a just tone, that is composed of many variations and gags, even a false ending or an entire sequence in shakespearian dialogue

To me, I enjoyed seeing this perspective, after living through the Dubya era of America. There was a reasoning you could see going on behind Christian Bale's eyes that felt very real. He is really the reason to see the movie. He transformed into Dick Cheney. Not something most people would do willingly. All that being said, I wondered really what purpose this movie serves.
