To be honest, I’m not really an expert on Aki Kaurismäki’s work but since this movie was very well received, I really wanted to check this movie. Eventually, I had a hard time to get into this movie. Still, even though I wasn't really blown by the whole thing, I thought it was pretty good. The second part of Aki Kaurismäki's "Finland" trilogy, the film follows a man who arrives in Helsinki and gets beaten up so severely he develops amnesia. Unable to remember his name or anything from his past life, he cannot get a job or an apartment, so he starts living on the outskirts of the city and slowly starts putting his life back on track.

In the story a middle aged welder wakes up in hospital without memory after being beaten and robbed. The main character escapes from the hospital and when he meets some other marginalized people, he realizes that getting along with the others is just as important as finding out the truth regarding his identity. Kaurismäki's methods might be repetitive, but good ideas are always worth"
