A good movie

To be honest, I’m not really an expert on Aki Kaurismäki’s work but since this movie was very well received, I really wanted to check this movie. Eventually, I had a hard time to get into this movie. Still, even though I wasn't really blown by the whole thing, I thought it was pretty good. The point is that Kaurismaki has such a peculiar style and it is, at the same time, the appeal of this movie but somehow, I guess it was not really my cup of tea either. I mean, it is very quiet, with few dialogs and it is basically based more on silence and body languages. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m French and in the Latin cultures, we tend to show more our feelings and state of mind so maybe that’s why I had a hard time to get into those characters. Still, it remains a nice drama which manages to make you laugh at some rather unexpected moments. To conclude, even though I didn’t think it was really amazing, it is actually a pretty good flick and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in Aki Kaurismäki’s work
