I kind of stumbled onto this movie years ago, being familiar with only Bruce Willis. This was pretty much the beginning of my infatuation with Mila Jovovich so I could never dis the movie. I thought that Gary Oldman played a excellent bad guy and Willis was his normal great good guy. In my opinion a good action movie for anyone who is a fan of the three actors/acttress that I mentioned.

Incredibly fun sci-fi!

"Everything you create, you use to destroy."

I found The Fifth Element to be an extremely enjoyable and entertaining experience; without being the greatest sci-fi film ever, it's bucket loads of fun.

The plot is about a great evil that comes to Earth every 5000 years with the intent of destroying it. The only way to combat this evil is using four stones and a "fifth ... read more

After catching the Fifth Element on late the other night, I had a second chance to give this highly tauted film another chance. After my first view some years ago, I was left searching for what element this movie contained that actually lived up to the hype everyone around me brought up. It's another funky, futuristic end of the world scenario with likeable characters, but...why is this one so goo... read more

The future kind of sucks. (430 movies items)

"Reason for the future sucking: A great evil, is about to destroy Earth, and only John McClane, Alice, Dylan McKay, and Detective James Carter, can save the day! Year it takes place: Mid 23rd Century"

Pop Culture Phenomenon Films: 90’s (1884 movies items)

" Over the top at times, and visually stunning, The Fifth Element might just be one of the best sci fi films to come from the 90’s. Playing like a live action Heavy Metal movie, Bruce Willis, plays Korben Dallas, a hard boiled taxi driver who gets a strange fare, a even stranger girl named Leelo, played by Milla Jovovich. Together, they have to save the universe from Evil and a evil industrialist, wonderfully played with manic energy by Gary Oldman. Audiences, enjoyed watching it and critic"

Pros and Cons of Films: Vol. 1 (121 movies items)

"Pros: It’s a beautifully odd and other worldly, unique sci fi action film. The depiction, of a futuristic New York City. The music by Eric Serra, as well as the Diva scene. The weird, out there humour. The attention to detail, from the buildings, to vehicles, and everything else in between. It’s a breath taking sci fi action, film. Mila Jovovich, it’s hard imagining anyone else that her as Leeloo. Bruce Willis, as Korbin Dallas. Gary Oldman, as the film’s main bad guy, Zorg. "

Hugely imaginative and enjoyable

“This sci-fi fantasy had a lot of ingredients to be great, a wonderful concept, Luc Besson who directed the brilliant Leon:The Professional and Gary Oldman who is one of the best underrated actors working today being just a few.The Fifth Element is a hugely imaginative and enjoyable film, with only Chris Tucker's annoying character and performance and the occasional lack of flow in the plot being its sole drawbacks. I adored the concept and the story even with the lack of flow never failed to intrigue. The script and satire are fun and slick, the visuals are breathtaking and unusual especially the amazing Big Apple effects with honourable mention to the camp trip to the resort planet Fhoston Paradise and there are plenty of thrills and imagination in the atmosphere to be had.Besson's directi” read more
