Superman gets an unfair rep nowadays. Many non-comic readers, and quite a few comic book lovers, scoff at him as a relic of the distant past. A happier, more naïve time in which heroes could be good and wholesome, and there’s also an image of him as a bland, problem-free Apollonian Boy Scout.

It's a fantastic critique of our modern society and how we're coming to expect more depravity in our media, especially how we feel our heroes should definitively deal with evil. Superman decides to show how flawed their way of thinking is by pretending to go insane and easily defeating the Elite. Top 10 Superman Stories (10 movies items)

"I liked the original story, "What's so Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way?", but the animated adaptation is better in almost every way. Aside from expanding the personalities of the Elite, the movie also shows the validity of both their and Superman's opinions. The movie is filled with amazing visuals and great performances and I highly recommend it to anyone who read the original story."
