“To be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Scarlett Johansson, I thought I might as well check it out. First of all, it was really neat that Johansson would try something completely different, in this case, a lowbrow raunchy comedy. On top of that, the rest of the cast not bad at all (Jillian Bell, Zoë Kravitz, Ilana Glazer, Kate McKinnon). So, it seemed that they had the necessary ingredients to deliver at least something decent but, unfortunately, the end-result didn't really work after all, I’m afraid. "26.4. 2019 Five best friends are having a bachelorette party but one of them accidentally kills a male stripper which leads to series of unfortunate and awkward incidents involving several crude and recycled jokes. "Rough Night" is like "Very Bad Things" but even worse since the movie doesn't even try to be original and the forgettable plot never really goes anywhere. Even talented and sexy Scarlett Johansson can't save this mess."
" DVD- 1hr. 41min. First Viewing Rough Night does, surprisingly, get better as it goes along. There are some funny bits here and there, but the film doesn't actually start to work until the last half-hour or so. The early problems start with the writing, which rushes into the plot and characters with reckless abandon, fleshing very little out; it's plot mechanics first, character work second. It also doesn't help that the characters are often annoying and act in ways that don't really feel genuin"
