" A boy obsessed with '50s sci-fi movies about aliens has a recurring dream about a blueprint of some kind, which he draws for his inventor friend. With the help of a third kid, they follow it and build themselves a spaceship. Now what? The film, featured earlier performances by Jason Preston, Ethan Hawke, River Phoenix, Amanda Peterson, Danny Nucci, James Cromwell, and Meshach Taylor, The special effects were produced by Industrial Light & Magic, with make-up effects by Rob Bottin. Rushed"

"FORMAT: 35mm CONDITION: ★★★½ NOTES: Opened on a rare, unofficial U classification card. First reel had focus issues, so the opening credits and the end of the reel where projected out of focus. The building of the Thunder Road faces sound system corruption issues, which are repeated in the reel in which Charlie begins his investigation up until the explorers take off into space. The bit in which the explorers name and christen the Thunder Road suffers from four cuts. DATE: May 20th 2023 "

"1985 as Ben Crandall in EXPLORERS (1985, dir: Joe Dante)"

"Format: Streaming Viewing: 2nd (or 3rd) Thoughts: Great little 80s sci-fi flick from goofball director Joe Dante. Has all the 80s coming-of-age trappings: geeks and bullying, space exploration slash video gaming, playing outdoors and building things, and a group of friends taking on the world together. A classic from my childhood."

" Directed by: Joe Dante Produced by: David Borndyk, Edward S. Feldman, Michael Finnell, and Tom Jacobson Written by: Eric Luke Cinematography: John Hora Edited by: Tina Hirsch Music by: Jerry Goldsmith Distributed by: Paramount Pictures"

" Re-Watched: 2/10/2018 Rating: 6.0 Format: Blu Ray It was good uptil they meet the aliens then it kinda just falls apart. "

It's a really fun movie with a down to earth premise, good acting from our child starts especially a very young Ethan Hawke and like pretty much all of Joe Dante's movies they look really impressive on a visual level even though some of the effects look very cheesy and dated by todays standards, but even that isn't a problem as it ad"
