Thoughts: Pete Davidson's life was a perfect fit for the Apatow Universe. Equally funny and sad.

Thoughts: Was the journey equal to the destination? Not sure I can say that. But what a journey it was. Made me think of 2001 A Space Odyssey. Brad was great.

Thoughts: I'm sorry but stories like these are just better suited for documentaries. Wasn't entertaining enough. That said, the three leads were great.

Thoughts: Big fan of Waititi, was expecting this to have more laughs. The grim side of the story didn't balance well. However, the child actors were fantastic.

Game Of Thrones: Season 8 (Music from the HBO Series)... - Ramin Djawadi
*Could not find the Season 8 series in the database
Format: Blu-Ray
Viewing: 2nd
Thoughts: Decided to give this a second chance since there was so much hype at the time of its original airing. Up to Episode 5 it was phenomenal and The Bells episode ranks as one of the best in the entire series. But the final "send off" episode just ruins it. The way they wrapped everything up just didn't feel true to the spirit of the show. It's the bad taste that just won't go away.

Black Sheep (1996)
Format: DVD
Viewing: Umpteenth
Thoughts: It goes to show that you actually need a good story for a Comedy to be great. Laughs alone cannot carry a film. That's why Tommy Boy was far superior.

Neighbors (2014)
Format: Blu-Ray

Thoughts: Probably one of the best "getting older" comedies (along with This is 40) to come out of the 10's. Endless laughs and great onscreen chemistry.

American Pie (1999)

Thoughts: The gross out humor was probably refreshing when it first came out, but doesn't hold up well today. Feels like I'm watching Porky's with little redeeming value.

Thoughts: Solid comedy for fans of Hill. This was probably one of the last comedies he headlined before going into more serious roles. It's like a reboot of Adventures in Babysitting.

Thoughts: I had been searching for this film for the longest time and it did have an interesting concept with some dope visuals. But overall it just felt a little flat and underwhelming.

Thoughts: Gritty as they come. Everything you could possibly want from a period cops and crooks film. Gray + Phoenix was like a modern day Scorsese + DeNiro.

Thoughts: Second time seeing this since its original airing on the History channel and man is this a helluva mini-series. At a time when you forgot how great Costner could be he returns in a big way as Devil Anse Hatfield. Bill Paxton also turns in an equally impressive performance as his nemesis Randall McCoy. The ensuing feud is served up in all its Shakespearean tragedy greatness.

3:10 to Yuma (2007)
Format: Blu-Ray

Thoughts: I would probably rank this as one of the best Westerns of the modern era. It's sleek, rugged, and suspenseful. It's basically everything you would want out of a Western with great performances from Bale and Crowe.

Thoughts: Still holds up really well today as a gritty period LA-noir cop flick thanks to Ellroy's dark-side of LA writing. When Crowe and Pearce finally join forces the movie really kicks into gear and serves up a spectacular finale.

Thoughts: This movie had such potential, the original story and world building was spectacular. But it was a little too vanilla for me and could have benefited from a harder edge. If helmed by someone like say George Miller, this could have been a sleeper masterpiece of Steam Punk sci-fi.

Thoughts: I'm sure a lot of people rank this movie higher because of the dog, but for me this just didn't hold up well from when I remember seeing it as a kid. There are far better Hanks comedies from this era (Big, Dragnet, The 'burbs, Money Pit, etc). It just wasn't funny enough and the whole thing was just kind of plodding and kept losing my attention.

Logan (2017)
Format: Blu-Ray

Thoughts: Has to be the best anti-super hero movie ever made (sorry Deadpool). The weathered, aged look of Wolverine and Professor X, the western themes, the father-daughter dilemma, all great stuff. Kept me glued all the way through.

Explorers (1985)
Format: Streaming
Viewing: 2nd (or 3rd)
Thoughts: Great little 80s sci-fi flick from goofball director Joe Dante. Has all the 80s coming-of-age trappings: geeks and bullying, space exploration slash video gaming, playing outdoors and building things, and a group of friends taking on the world together. A classic from my childhood.
