This movie isn't a great one but it's not the worst I've seen. Without Vincent Price there's probably no way I'd enjoy this at all. Oh, and there's a lot of tits! Maybe that's what it took to sell this movie. Anyway, Witchcraft is rampent and it's up to Lord Edward Whitman to get rid of them, but a beast lurks about...a Banshee. In Elizabethan England, a wicked lord massacres nearly all the members of a coven of witches, earning the enmity of their leader, Oona. Oona calls up a magical servant, a "banshee", to destroy the lord's family. (The "banshee" of this tale bears no resemblance to the normal usage of the term!)

Movie Reviews (1951-2000) (50 movies items)" Vincent was good at hating witches as he here do a much sleazier version of his "Witchfinder General" character but still spitting out hateful dialogue as if he was doing a Shakespeare play. Director Gordon Hessler knows he has a lously script so he sprinkles the film with attractive women with clothes that are so loose that their tits fall out making one think he attempted to make a British Jesus Franco movie which is not a bad thing by the way."
