Best, most inventive found footage movie in years
TrollHunter (or Trolljegeren) is an ingenious little Norwegian import; a found footage production with sturdy visual effects, convincing acting and a crafty script. It's a mockumentary willing to go above and beyond the call of duty, taking the time to build a rich sense of universe lore and introduce a thoroughly fascinatin... read more
Troll got pwned!

" "I once saw a troll try to eat its own tail. His head between his legs, he tried to suck down his own tail. He started gagging on it, tipped over, and rolled down a hill like a wheel." "Re-watch - May 28th I made a point to watch this with my daughter this time around, & she really enjoyed it. My rating dropped slightly as I don't think it's quite great, but it's still a solidly entertaining film with excellent effects & a refreshingly uncommon subject. As long as André Øvredal keeps making films, I'll be there to support him."

"A mix of monster movie, fantasy, and Jaws...only with trolls. Found footage done right. "

" Even though the Trolls (trolls!) were really well-done, it was a shaky-cam found-footage film that didn't keep me as entertained as say-Cloverfield. Maybe it was because they spoke Norwegian and I was very tired. Loved the trolls, though."

"Really good found footage film, which I usually don't like that much. The movie didn't use the cheap jumpscares (except at the end of the credits which I watched throught since they had Kvelertak playing during them) and didn't have that much of running around camera pointing to a ground and shaking all over the place. The troll-lore was fun and the film was good from start to finish. "

They start to follow a mysterious hunter, learning that he is actually a troll hunter. “Since I kept hearing some pretty good things about this flick, I thought I might as well check it out. By now, you might think that the found-footage gimmick has been done to death but, apparently, the film makers still manage to find some way to be creative with this concept. Indeed, in this case, we get the opportunity to go all the way to Norway to follow some kind of troll hunter during the shooting of a mockumentary. Eventually, the end result was not bad and, above all, I liked the way they managed to mix comedy and horror which can be a tricky thing to do. Still, even though it was a decent effort, I can’t say I was really blown away by the damned thing though. First of all, to be honest, I thought that the first troll really looked ridiculous but, fortunately, all the other troll” read more
