Disturbing Films For Unhealthy Minds

Mix a good old spaghetti western with surrealism and you'll come across with El Topo. Jodorowski is among the masters of surrealist cinema and El Topo may be one of the most twisted and weird films of his, yet easier to follow.

Pink Flamingos is a black comedy starring Divine, a fat drag queen with a filthy mind. I could say this is disturbing enough, but it just doesn't end there. The film depicts rapping, exhibitionism, bestialism, voyeurism, coprophagy, oral sex, and even a singing sphincter.

This could probably be a faithfull depiction of how the handicaped (both physically and mentally) and people with abnormal deformaties were treated in the past - as inhuman circus material. It is disturbing by that fact, but also because of the unusual cast itself, which shocked the audiences at the time.

The main disturbing thing about Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer is not the fact that it is a true story serial killer movie, but instead the idea that the pure horror and disgust the viewer feels towards this person during most the film, turns into some kind of compassion at some specific point.
