My favorite films and shows about totalitarianism or set in a totalitarian society, and my watch-list. In totalitarian governments, the state has no limits to its power.

Recommendations are appreciated.

I got a few films to watch from this list on Mubi.

Many of Jan Švankmajer's films have symbolic imagery critical of totalitarianism.
The filmography of Jan Švankmajer

★★★ (Good)
The Animatrix - I recommend A Detective Story, a neo-noir from Shinichirô Watanabe, the director of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.
The Matrix Reloaded
They Live (John Carpenter)
★★☆ (Average)
The Matrix Revolutions
The Island (Michael Bay)
I'm not interested in seeing Equilibrium or
Logan’s Run
