Tomatometer Guess: 41%.
Actual Score: 17%. Honestly, I can't say I'm surprised. The scenes between Ed Skrein and Ray Stevenson are handled well, and the film has some decent action. Unfortunately, the action becomes so over the top and cartoony that it stop being fun and becomes a chore to sit through.

The Visit (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 65%. After many years of becoming a punchline among movie fans, M. Night Shyamalan seems to be slowly making a comeback. First on the small screen with Wayward Pines, now on the big screen with this low budget horror comedy. Will this be the movie that gets his career on track?
Actual Score: 62%. It's far from perfect, but The Visit is a tense, thrilling, and at times hilarious horror film that signals that there is still hope for M. Night Shyamalan yet.

Actual Score: 25%. The Perfect Guy is the perfect guilty pleasure movie, it's silly, but entertaining. Nothing more, nothing less.

JWR's rating:

Tomatometer Guess: 69%. While the original Maze Runner was far from perfect, I was surprised just by how much i enjoyed the film, and it's sequel is looking to be bigger, more exctiting, and even better than the first.
Actual Score: 50%. The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials features decent acting and succeeds in upping the stakes, but unfortunately, it suffers from a lack of urgency, interesting characters, and a satisfying ending. It's not a bad movie, but it is rather disappointing compared to the first.
JWR's rating:

Tomatometer Guess: 53%. As with San Andreas, Everest looks to be a fun and thrilling disaster movie. However, as may suffer from underdeveloped characters and forced drama.
Actual Score : 73%.
JWR's rating:

Black Mass (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 82%. This sleek looking biopic has the potential to be a stellar crime drama (ala Goodfellas) and could also help Johnny Depp's fledgling career.
Actual Score: 76%. While the movie lacks a trule likeable protagonist and suffers from some gangster movie clichés, Black Mass makes up for it with amazing performances from the entire cast, most notably Johnny Depp, who is menacing and loathsome as Whitey Bulger.

Cooties (2014)
Tomatometer Guess: 62%. If you loved Dawn of The Dead but wish that there were more kids in it, than you may be in for a treat.
JWR's rating:

Tomatometer Guess: 85%. With a stellar cast and the director of Prisoners and Enemy at the helm, it's hard to imagine this film being short of entertaining.
Actual Score: 93%. Not only does Sicario feature well shot and intense action sequences, but it also has plenty of tension and strong performances from Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro. If you're a fan of movies like Heat, I highly recommend this.
JWR's rating:

Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 51%. While not his best work, Genndy Tartakovsky's Hotel Transylvania was a funny, cute, and at times touching animated film. With new cast members such as Mel Brooks as Dracula's father, this film looks like it will be just as if not more fun than the first.
Actual Score: 46%. Not a great movie, but it has nice animation, clever visual gags, and it's harmless. If you liked the fist film, you'll like this too.

The Intern (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 73%. The director of Something's Gotta Give and What Women Want returns with this charming looking comedy featuring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro.
Actual Score: 56%. Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway are both entertaining to watch in this average, but still competent comedy.

JWR's rating:

The Walk (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 81%. Robert Zemeckis returns to direct the biopic about famous tightrope walker, Phelippe Petit.
Actual Score: 86%. Overall, The Walk is an entertaining film, but those expecting a non stop thrill ride may be disappointed as it starts as a standard biopic, but becomes intense by the last 20 minutes.

JWR's rating:

The Martian (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 80%. With an excellent premise, and a talented cast, this movie based off the novel of the same name has potential to be a real crowd pleaser.
Actual Score: 94%. After several subpar efforts, Ridley Scott returns with this well acted, tense, visually gorgeous, and surprisingly funny sci-fi film that must be seen on the big screen.

JWR's rating:

The Final Girls (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 85%. What do you get when you cross The Last Action Hero and Cabin In The Woods, you get this critical darling from SxSW. However, only time will tell if it lives up to the hype surrounding it.
Pan (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 57%. Delayed until October to avoid competition, this bizarre retelling of J.M. Barrie's classic story may anger hard core fans, but may prove to be fun in its own right.
Actual Score: 22%. Pan is an uneven mess, constantly jumping around from being a fun family film to a dark and dreary one. The characters are stereotypes and the acting is too hammy at times. Another problem with the movie is that it never takes a moment to breathe and allow for character development.

JWR's rating:

Steve Jobs (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 83%. The talented cast and writer Aaron Sorkin give me confidence in this movie turning out well, but the story of Steve Jobs is not an easy to translate on the big screen. Then again, considering that this will likely be compared to the lackluster Ashton Kutcher film, the filmmakers don't exactly have big shoes to fill.
Actual Score: 89%.

JWR's rating:

Crimson Peak (2014)
Tomatometer Guess: 86%. From director Guillermo Del Toro comes this gothic throwback to classic horror.
Actual Score: 68%. While slow at the beginning, and not very scary, Crimson Peak has stunning visuals and great performances.

JWR's rating:

Bridge of Spies (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 79%. Tom Hanks stars in a political thriller set during the Cold War directed by Steven Spielberg and written by the Cohen Brothers. Need I say more?
Actual Score: 92%. Tense, Well Directed and Acted, and surprisingly funny thanks to the Cohen Bros. script, Bridge of Spies is another solid effort from Steven Spielberg and one of the best films tackling the Cold War.

JWR's rating:

Goosebumps (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 46%. I love the Goosebumps books and while I like the cast they have for this movie, the trailers have convinced me that this will be a movie meant more for the kids than the whole family. However, as long as it's better than Pixels, I can let it slide.
Actual Score : 71%. A fun, fast paced family film that will entertain children and adults, despite some dodgy special effects and not all of the jokes hitting.

JWR's rating:

Jem and the Holograms (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 20%. While the movie may be as bad as its first trailer made it out to be, this movie still looks like a cliché, boring, and cheesy film that resembles the cartoon in name only.
Actual Score: 22%. Exactly as i expected, Jem and The Holograms is a cheap looking, unintentionally funny, poorly acted, and contrived movie that spits in the face of the cartoon and fails to stand on its own as a movie. Stay away.

JWR's rating:

Tomatometer Guess: 53%. This fantasy action film can go either one of two ways: It can either be a dumb fun action film, or it will take itself too seriously and be a total bore like I, Frankenstein.
Actual Score: 17%. A generic action film, but not painful. Nothing much to say.

JWR's rating:

Tomatometer Guess: 37%. This "Final Installment" of the Paranormal Activity series promises to answer all the questions that fans and movie goers have had about the series.
I put final installment in quotation marks, because with all the money that Paramount has made from this series, there's no way they'll stop making them altogether. They'll stop making them for a couple of years, then reboot the series.

Rock the Kasbah (2015)
Tomatometer Guess: 71%. Bill Murray is a god among men in the world of comedy, so it goes without saying that I'm looking forward to seeing him on screen with Bruce Willis in this.
Actual Score: 8%.
Actual Score: 8%.
JWR's rating:

Tomatometer Guess: 65%. Tye Sheridan stars in what looks like Shaun of The Dead for tweens.
Actual Score: 13%. While juvenile and a bit too vulgar for some, Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse has moments of genuinely good humor, and will entertain people who can get past the vulgar humor. Of you liked SuperBad, you'll probably enjoy this.

Summer might have ended, but there's still many films to look forward to this Fall. So, here are my predictions for the potential hits and stinkers of September & October.
