Initial Thought: To be honest I haven't had much disliking for M. Night Shyamalan. He has only made two films I've hated. This however looked to be quite ridiculous. I'm only watching this because working in a movie theater has its perks. I have to be honest I probably wouldn't have watched this as soon as I have otherwise. Hopefully the movie is better than the trailer gives it credit for.

OUR GRANDPARENTS LOVES US SO MUCH This was a good film from M. Night Shyamalan since The Signs (2002. He has given us pretty shitty movies lately, but this one need to be checked out. Performances were great, especially Deanna Dunagan who played Nana but the kids pulled their own parts as well. Mood was creepy. Got few chills and scares on certain points. Twist was acceptable but not mind blowin... read more

"Mom, there's something wrong with Nana and Pop Pop."The Visit may be an imperfect thriller which never quite engages or frightens like the best genre movies, but it is a reassuring step in the right direction for director M. Night Shyamalan, whose misplaced confidence led to such indefensible disasters as The Last Airbender and After Earth. Disposing of large budgets and blockbuster thrills, Shya... read more

" Another infuriating M. Nightmare Shyamalan piece of excrement. How can I describe how I hate thee? I would literally murder the whole cast with my bare hands. WTF is this movie. M Night's obsession with casting super annoying children was never so prominent than it was here. The storyline is that some kids go visit their grandparents, but they turn out to be weird and disgusting as fuck. Like there is some nasty shit in this movie that should warrant a lawsuit bruh. Yeah idk I just can't lma"

Worst Movies I've Ever Seen (10 movies items)

"This movie is so dumb. People are saying "M. Night Shyamalan is making a comeback with his latest films". If that's the case, then moviegoers have developed terrible taste. The movie is so un-scary that I'm not sure it's even trying to be. It does seem to also want to inject some comedy in there, but it fails at that too. Plus, it spends way too much time subjecting us to the cringiest attempts at rapping known to man. "

"2.2.2019 A mother sends her two kids to visit their grandparents while she goes to have fun on a cruise. The kids, Becca and Tyler, aren't exactly having fun when they start to witness their grandparents' scary behavior. Are the kids frightened only because they can't understand why old people act in a certain way or is there some more sinister explanation for all the odd events? The film is at its best when it examines how kids see the adult world as a naturally scary place. It's too bad that"

“"The Visit" was M. Night Shyamalan's first step back into the spotlight and I enjoyed it well enough when I first saw it despite it's flaws. It really still shocks me how much of a leap in quality happened between this and his next film "Split". I don't believe the film is great, by far, but I do believe it was one with a strong premise and some great scenes that, coupled with the prolific man who made it, will keep it from fading away into obscurity. There is much to say about the movie as it proved a stepping stone for Shymalan but foremost I believe that it would of been best served as a normal movie rather than one in the found footage/faux documentary style. This format hindered it as much as it made it stand out.

The film deals with two kids visiting grandparents they've ” read more

" This felt like Shyamalan was going back to basics. Getting his groove back. I was thinking about it and I'm pretty sure I've liked all his movies barring Last Airbender and After Earth. That means I'm a fan, right? Huh. You find things out all the time, don'tcha? This was a nicely enticing paranoia film."

" - Rewatched | Second time The Visit is at times hilarious. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not, but that's not really important. For despite that, The Visit is occasionally very creepy. With a couple of solid performances, a well-thought out use of the found-footage genre and a bonkers script, Shyamalan manged to slightly redeem himself after some of his earlier misfires. It's a film that's full of his usual trademarks, for better and worse, but this is a production that suited his abilit"

"Some good moments but overall this wasn't that good of a movie. It was funny at times but not scary at all. The little rapper kid was annoying and it took the enjoyment level down quite a bit. The weirdness with the grandparents had the opposite reaction."
