This was a pretty interesting movie. It pulled off the Pulp Fiction style of storytelling very well and it also had some very funny dialogue. If you like movies like with a nonlinear narrative, then give this one a chance.

Lone Survivor (2014)

"Anything in life worth doing is worth overdoing. Moderation is for cowards."
This is the first movie I saw in theatres this year and it looks like 2014 might be a better year for movies than last year. This movie is the best war movie that's based on a more recent war. It was gripping, disturbing and very realistic. Mark Wahlberg also delivers his best performance since Boogie Nights. While I was disappointed with some of the movies 2013 had to offer, this movie gives me hope that 2014 will be an awesome year for movies.

"It hurts doesn't it? Your hopes dashed, your dreams down the toilet. And your fate is sitting right besides you."
This movie wasn't too impressive. While Edward Norton was awesome in this movie, the dialogue was OK and I didn't find this movie too interesting. I guess it's because I find poker very boring. If you're interested in poker, then you might like this movie. Otherwise it's probably not worth your time.

Monster's Ball (2001)

"I've always believed that a portrait captures a person far better than a photograph. It truly takes a human being to really see a human being."
This was a very good movie. It was well-written, it tackled difficult subjects and for once Halle Berry delivers a good performance. It's not a masterpiece, but it's somewhat underrated considering that I rarely hear about this movie despite the fact that it won an Oscar. I do keep hearing about Halle Berry winning the Oscar, but not the movie itself.

I thought this movie was entertaining. While some people consider it cheesy, I think it's far from that. I think this movie can be genuinely touching at times and it broke ground at the time this was made. Today it's dated, but I still think it was a good movie.

While I don't support the use of marijuana, I do understand why people want to get it legalized. This documentary was very interesting, informative and it was funny at times. I think it's worth watching.

While I liked this movie, I think it could've been developed. While Anne Hathaway's character was good, the rest of the characters were OK and if this film was longer, the character development might've been better. It was good for what it is, but it was too short and I rarely say that about a movie.

This was a hell of a movie. The dialogue had a lot of thought put into and it had some very great acting considering that most of the cast didn't have much experience in acting. The whole thing was so realistic that it didn't really feel like a movie at all. Much better than that piece of crap movie SubUrbia which wishes it could exactly be like this movie.

Stupid, lame, uninspired, cliched, unfunny, boring as fuck, unoriginal, uninspired, god-awful, horrendous, abysmal, nothing good about it whatsoever, inane typical Hollywood bullshit. Seriously! Shallow Hal did a better job with the whole inner beauty message better and I didn't even like that movie. How this movie even got approved by Hollywood is beyond me.

"What the fuck does WTF mean?"
This movie wasn't as funny as it should've been. While it did have its funny moments, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright don't use the best of their humor in this movie and some jokes in this movie are funnier than others. I also thought the action in this movie was pretty repetitive. This is just another disappointing movie that 2013 had to offer.

I really dug this movie. It was gripping, had some very good characters and it had Antoine Fuqua's style of directing that I really admire. Out of all his movies, I would consider this one to be his best.

Before Midnight (2013)

"Like sunlight, sunset, we appear, we disappear. We are so important to some, but we are just passing through."
I thought this was better than Before Sunset. While that movie was good, it didn't come close to being as good as Before Sunrise. While this one isn't as good as the latter movie, it's still an amazing movie. The movie is just dialogue, but it's very well-written and I liked seeing where the two main characters are now. I'm glad I finally saw it and now I've seen all of Richard Linklater's movies. I have to say that he's a very unique director and while he has made some great movies, he's also had a few misses.

I was originally going to see The Monument's Men, but since I've heard mixed things about it, I decided to see this instead. I'm glad I did because this is the best animated movie I've seen since Toy Story 3. It had lots of creative ideas, some really likable characters and most of all it was hilarious. I don't think I've laughed this much while watching an animated movie before. It also had some heartwarming scenes which added to how great this movie is. Whether you're a kid or an adult, this movie will have something for you to enjoy.

I couldn't stand this movie. I thought the acting was atrocious and the dialogue was really bad. It wasn't scary... it was just fucking disgusting!
Also the so-called great twist ending just seemed phoned in to make up for people that knew the killer was Angela!!!!!! Angela!!!!!! Pretty damn obvious! Very stupid movie with an overrated twist.

This was a very cool movie. While I can't say I'm a fan of Ron Perlman, I thought he did an awesome job as Hellboy. It also had awesome visuals and it was very entertaining. Now I'm excited to see the sequel to this movie.

While I did like this movie, I don't think it was as good as the people on Listal say it is. It did have some very good acting and some very well-made scenes, I just couldn't get into the story.

"Doc, once you've been driven off a bridge at 80 miles an hour, somehow you don't invite happiness in without a full body search."
This was a very fascinating movie. While any movie with Tom Cruise trying something different gets my seal of approval, I also really liked the story and I just found this movie to be a remarkable experience. I will watch the original movie sometime, but I think this movie is much better than some people make it out to be.

"You can't make things like that up, son. Killing people is wrong, destroying demons is good. Don't worry, God will send you your own list when you're older."
This wasn't a good movie at all. It was boring, had a lackluster premise and the dialogue was bland. The twist at the end was somewhat decent, but it's not surprising like the movie wants it to be. I also don't think Matthew McConaughey is good when he's doing serious roles.

I liked this movie even more the second time around. It was really funny and the love story in this film is unique. I enjoyed this movie. It's nothing great, but it had a good plot and it had some humorous dialogue. This movie may not appeal to general movie-goers, but if you're a fan of anyone in the cast and interested in seeing it then it's worth a shot.

When the movie started I thought it was going to be overrated, but when Natalie Portman's character was introduced that was when the movie started to get great. This movie has amazing writing, acting and it has some very memorable scenes. I didn't give it a perfect score because of the slow start, but this is still a great movie and I'm glad I finally watched it.

This was a very good movie. It's not as good as Mike Hodges' masterpiece which is Get Carter, but it's still a very well done revenge movie and it has an awesome performance from Clive Owen. If you're a fan of dark revenge movies then this is worth a look.

I loved this movie a lot. A film based on Casualty Notification Officers is a great idea for a movie and it has Woody Harrelson's best performance in his career. The drama in this movie worked very well and wasn't overly sentimental like some dramas are.

Because the only Uwe Boll movie I've seen was Rampage which is his most praised film, I thought it was only fair to see one of his panned movies. Out of all the movies I've given one star, this one was the least painful to watch. I have to admit it was somewhat entertaining, but it's entertaining for the wrong reasons. The characters were horrendous, the dialogue was abysmal, the voice-over was pretentious, the nudity was there for no reason and this movie is about as scary as the Scary Movie franchise. The only good thing was the gore effects in the movie, but the movie ruins it with the video game footage from the game this movie is based off of. As a film-maker I have to watch some of Uwe Boll's other movies so I can learn more about how not to make a movie.

I knew this movie was going to be good, but I didn't know I was going to love it this much. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised because the style of this movie reminded me of Little Miss Sunshine which I loved. This movie was very charming, heartfelt and hilarious.

I don't get why some people didn't like this movie. Sure it's nothing original, but Woody Harrelson does a good job playing his character and the script for this movie is actually pretty good. I really liked this movie and I'm looking forward to seeing what Oren Moverman will be directing next.

While I can't deny that this is an amazing story, there were some things I didn't like about this movie. While this movie did have its great moments, there were some parts that could've been cut out of the movie. While James Franco is good in this movie, I can't say it's his best performance. It's a good movie, but somewhat overrated.

I am shocked that this brilliant movie was bashed by critics. It's funny, exciting and it's entertaining from start to finish. I would even like to own it on blu-ray sometime. That's how much I enjoyed it.

Two OK movies in a row. Sure it's better than watching two bad movies in a row, but I like watching good movies! While the acting was decent and it had an OK plot, the film tries to be disturbing and it barely works. I don't regret watching it, but I would never watch it again.

"Lisa, whatever female-driven, emotion-based dilemma you may be dealing with right now, you have my sympathy. But for the sake of time and sanity, let's break this down into a little male-driven fact-based logic. One simple phone call saves your dad's life."
While this isn't a great movie, it is a really well-made thriller. It was suspenseful, it kept me interested and the whole movie felt like a modern Hitchcock thriller which is good. If you want a thriller that's suspenseful, but doesn't take itself too seriously then I would recommend this one.

I decided to watch this movie expecting a typical action movie and got more out of this movie than I thought I would. It had some strong performances, solid direction and dark storytelling. The last 20 minutes of this movie were very suspenseful and had me on the edge of my seat. Not Bruce Willis' best movie, but it is his most underrated.

"Satan is simply the warden of a very large prison. Quiet man actually, thoughtful and he's well read. And I happen to know the idea of sacrificing children in his honour annoys him greatly."
This movie was originally on my not interested list, but I made that list almost 3 years ago and my taste in movies has changed since then. This is by no means a great movie, but it's entertaining and while I can't say I was missing out on something, I still think this movie is worth watching at least once if your a fan of this genre.

I watched the trailer for this movie days before I watched this and that trailer amazed me like no trailer ever has before and that's when I knew I had to watch this movie. While the movie started off a little slow, the movie started to pick up after the opening scene was done, so it's just a nitpick. The writing, the acting and the humor in this movie is all perfect. Clint Eastwood's performance was amazing and his gravelly voice gives his character more personality. So far this is my personal favorite Clint Eastwood movie.

While I don't watch westerns too often, I do enjoy a good western from time to time. Especially westerns involving Clint Eastwood too. While people consider The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly to be the best western, I personally think this is the best western. It had great characters, amazing storytelling and it has some of the most memorable lines in movie history. This western is a must see whether you're a fan of the genre or not.

I wasn't sure about this movie because I didn't like the idea of Clint Eastwood directing and starring in a romance movie, but I gave it a benefit of a doubt. I will say that it is impossible for Clint Eastwood to deliver a bad or average performance and while he was decent, I didn't find him believable as the type of character he was playing. The dialogue was OK, the story was nothing new and I think Meryl Streep is overrated in my opinion. The main weakness this movie has is that it's not romantic, and when a romance movie isn't romantic then that's when it fails. Despite the problems I had with this movie I still thought the way Clint Eastwood directed this movie was great and some of the shots in this movie was beautiful. Overrated movie and my least favorite Clint Eastwood film so far.
