Synchronic was on my list last year, but it only screened at festivals. I trust that someone will release it this year, and hope that it's the film that finally allows Benson & Moorhead to cross over into a bigger following so I can stop having to wait so long to watch them.

I've been looking forward to this ever since the post-credits scene in Kong: Skull Island. The kiddo wants to see this too, though probably not as much as I do. If they do right by the titular battle then I may see this more than once.

My long-time friends and followers know that I'm down with whatever weirdness Quentin Dupieux cooks up. Hopefully it manages to find a spot at a theatre here so I can watch it on the big screen.

I'll watch anything Guillermo del Toro does at this point. While Nightmare Alley isn't under way yet it's supposed to be out this year. Perhaps in time for awards consideration.

Between Leigh Whannell directing and Elisabeth Moss starring I'm 100% ready for this one. If nothing else I'm sure it'll be better than the version we were supposed to get with Johnny Depp (RIP Dark Universe, we hardly knew ye).

OK, so first off I've kinda seen this already. PvtCaboose91 hooked me up with it and I watched it last July. But then circumstances required him to go back and do some additional work on it, so there's another version coming out this year. As much as I enjoyed the previous version I can't wait to see how it turns out this time around.

I don't need to even say anything, do I? Let's just hope this winds up being one of the better entries for Daniel Craig, especially if he's bowing out after this one.

This year we're getting two original Pixar films, and I'm very content with that. Here's hoping they're both worth seeing. From what I've read about the two films I'm more interested in Soul than Onward, but I'll definitely see both.

I've seen a little of the trailer for this and was not impressed at all. Supposedly it's better than the trailers suggest though, so I reserve the right to change my mind about it.

From what I saw of the trailer this one looks like it'll be a good time, and the kiddo is 100% on board for it. I haven't read any of the books it's based on, however, so while I'm curious to check it out my excitement levels aren't high.

Suicide Squad was a trainwreck, but Margot Robbie was NOT the reason for that. Still this one seems like it could go either way, especially since February tends to be a dumping ground for films nobody should watch. I might check it out, but my expectations are being kept low.

On the one hand it's Jane Austen, whose work I'm not a fan of. On the other hand it's Anya Taylor-Joy who has yet to make a film that wasn't worth watching. So I'm on the fence for this one.

Look, we don't need another Ghostbusters movie. And yet the trailer for this one looks like it'll be a good time. If nothing else it looks more entertaining to me than the previous attempt to revive the franchise. Oh, and the kiddo wants to see it so I'll have to take her.

Belated sequels are rarely a good idea, especially one for a film that was merely good. But I've spent the past few years learning to trust in Tom Cruise when it comes to action movies, so I'll probably wind up seeing this.

Replacing James Wan with the guy that made La Llorona which everyone who saw it said had zero scares? (I skipped it, the trailers told me it'd suck.) Not interested. The only way I'm seeing this is if the reviews are stellar across the board, and I have zero hope of that happening. Besides, why waste time on this when both Wan and Leigh Whannell have horror movies of their own being released this year?

I miss caring about Guy Ritchie's films, but he's done nothing in over a decade to justify my putting faith in him again. The trailers for this look awful, which is sad given how much of the cast I'm a fan of.

I wish I could say I'm on board with this Sony franchise of Spider-Man characters, but casting Jared Leto as Morbius doesn't sit right with me. Also, Venom was barely worth sitting through. So odds are I'll sit this one out, or if I watch it at all it'll be at home long after it's left theatres.

The title should be self-explanatory, and my friends and followers know I do this every year. List subject to change as I become aware of more new releases as the year progresses. Release date details are as of 1/4/2020 courtesy of IMDb (I assume that means either US or worldwide release on these dates), and should they change I'll probably forget to update them (in which case I apologize now).
Much like last year I've given up on including trailers. As a reminder that's because: 1. They cause the list to load slowly, and sometimes they stop working or disappear entirely. 2. I don't want to feel obligated to return to this list to add more trailers as they're released. 3. I'm finding that more and more I'd rather go into a movie without seeing a trailer at all so my expectations are not misplaced.
