Probably no suprize to anyone that Ringo is number one on this list, being as he was a member of the most famous band in the world, that also had phenomenal record sales.

Phil was also a member of a long running band, Genesis, but after stepping out from behind the drum kit and taking the formerly progressive band in a more decidedly Pop direction, he also became a successful solo artist with Pop hits like 'Susudio'. It was suprizing to me that he is so close to Ringo, given his band was nowhere near as famous or successful.

Now this one really knocked me out. Grohl at number 3? He became known as the drummer for Nirvanna, but after that band folded, he formed the Foo Fighters, as well as played drums on other projects. I was amazed that he has done so well. I guess Foo Fighters are more popular than I had realized, even though he doesn't play drums with them.
