Argo (2012)
Rated 15 for strong language
For a film to get a 15 just for swearing is rubbish! When I was 12, I learned not to say any unfamiliar words unless it was a teacher or a children's film saying them. The violence is not huge and the BBFC would probably have rated it 12 if not for the language.
Suggested rating: 12 for strong language and moderate violence

Babe: Pig in the City (1998)
Rated U for mild threat and infrequent mild language
This film deserves a PG certificate! It took on a darker tone than the original heartwarming classic film! The film has moments too scary for young children and very poor visual effects!
Suggested rating: PG for mild horror

Batman (1989)
Rated 15 for moderate violence
'Batman' caused controversy upon release with many suggesting it was too violent! It had gory violence but I don't really see why it got a 15! Nothing a 12 year old shouldn't be able to handle!
Suggested rating: 12 for moderate violence

Billy Elliot (2000)
Rated 15 for strong language
Like 'Argo', 'Billy Elliot' gets slapped with a 15 certificate for strong language! My points are like 'Argo' and I'm sure many 12 year old kids would love this kind of movie!
Suggested rating: 12 for moderate sex references

Cars (2006)
Rated PG for mild language and scary moments
I'm not surprised that 'Toy Story' got a PG rating but 'Cars'? I don't remember much mild language (other than 'sexy') at all and scary moments? Only very mild when Chick throws The King across the track!
Suggested rating: U for very mild language, innuendo and violence

Cast Away (2000)
Rated 12 for frightening moments of action and mild language
Really the only 12 rated moment is the plane crash at the start and then there's only really Chuck saying "goddamm" and wounding his hand.
Suggested rating: PG for infrequent horror, mild language and violence

Disaster Movie (2008)
Rated 12 for hard drug references, bleeped strong language and sex references
Seriously, who rated this film? A 12 certificate? Hahaha! Most inappropriate content, so Juno being eaten alive by chipmunks with rabies and stupid jokes about racism and sexism is not enough for a 15? Give me a goddamm break!
Suggested rating: 15 for racist terms and frequent crude humour

filmbuilder's rating:

Dumb and Dumber (1994)
Rated 12 for moderate sex references
There's more to this movie than sexuality! There's jokes about drinking urine and biting people in the crotch! Absolutely crude and squeamish! And in a bad way!
Suggested rating: 15 for crude humour

Kick-Ass (2010)
Rated 15 for strong language, once very strong and strong bloody comic violence
Here, the 15 certificate is simply laughable! To me 3/4 of the film is pure bloody violence! The violence seems too much for a 15!
Suggested rating: 18 for frequent strong bloody comic violence

Mickey Blue Eyes (1999)
Rated 15 for infrequent strong language and moderate violence
Strong language should not earn a film a 15, infrequent especially! The violence is just a few scenes of blood really!

Notting Hill (1999)
Rated 15 for infrequent strong language and moderate sex references
Like 'Mickey Blue Eyes' (also starring Hugh Grant), a film should not be rated 15 for strong language, especially infrequent. The moderate sex references are not frequent and rated PG-13 in the USA!

Rated 12 for scenes of Holocaust threat and horror
The final scene of the film involving the gas chamber is way too disturbing. Most of the film would be suitable for a 12 movie but the final scene is too disturbing and frightening for a 12.
Suggested rating: 15 for strong horror and upset

The Cat in the Hat (2003)
Rated PG for mild innuendo and crude humour
Who thought this kind of humour could be suitable for young readers of the book? The innuendos are awful and inappropriate and the Cat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 look scary!
Suggested rating: 12 for moderate sex references and crude humour

The Money Pit (1986)
Rated 15
Why would something like this get a 15 certificate. The BBFC haven't even given any advice! The only sex reference is Tom Hanks (without a shirt on) and Shelley Long kissing and the only innuendo is a statue which urinates in a pond! To give it a 15 is absolute manure!
