This one is a little ridiculous and far more bad than good, but some of the scenes are sort of iconic, in the annals of slasher filmdom.
Stehako's rating:

Troop Beverly Hills (1989)
A beloved movie for girls, doesn't work so much for boys.
Stehako's rating:

She's Out of Control (1989)
My wife introduced me to this, one of her favorites as a kid. It's a pretty hastily put together production, but it still enlisted some laughs and the main characters are likable.
Stehako's rating:

We're No Angels (1989)
De Niro and Penn teaming up to play ex-cons pretending they're priests seems like a great set-up but the results are mediocre and nothing really plays out that well.
Stehako's rating:

Elephant (1989)
Alan Clarke's final film before he died, about death... lots and lots of death. That's all it is, people shooting others. But I will say it's unique some of the filmmaking techniques are solid.
Stehako's rating:

A kids' adventure film that was on the level of Goonies, as a kid, but one that doesn't nearly hold up as well.
Stehako's rating:

Bad Taste (1987)
A movie that revels in its terrible nature. This is riddled with bad taste, but you might just end up loving it.
Stehako's rating:

The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989)

The brothers are played by brothers, which helps a lot; but ultimately neither one is all that likable. Pfeiffer certainly is but the singing sings seem aren't very strong whereas the squabbles are the main focus and well, only fairly interesting... kind of like this review.
Stehako's rating:

Licence to Kill (1989)
One of my least favorite Bond films, but shit, it's still Bond.
Stehako's rating:

Triumph of the Spirit (1989)
Director: Robert M. Young
His 11th Movie
My 1st movie watched from the director
Willem Dafoe is a fucking force. I can't believe it took me this long to see, what I think, is one of his best roles of his long and impressive career. Though I had known about it, I never knew what it was about and was hit hard with the subject matter, that being the torture of being in a concentration camp during WWII.
Wendy Gazelle and Kelly Wolf also turned in impressive performances, making it surprising they never gained recognition afterward.

Stehako's rating:

About a guy and his team who go through a lot of trouble to get high.
Stehako's rating:

In this movie you will see inexplicit scenes of sex, several discussions about sex, several lies, one big lie about sex, and a good portion is captured on video, turned into videotape.
Stehako's rating:

Look Who's Talking (1989)
An awesome movie as a kid, but it's certainly lost a lot of its charm over the years.
Stehako's rating:

New York Stories (1989)
A fascinating multi-story film that didn't possess the best quality, just good storying telling.
Stehako's rating:

Chances Are (1989)
Robert Downey showing off his acting chops at a young age. While the direction and pace is a little off this is still fun, harmless high concept movie.
Stehako's rating:

Driving Miss Daisy (1989)
Who would have thought chauffeuring an old lady around would be entertaining?
