Even though I wasn't expecting much, since it was one of the last movies starring Eddie Murphy which I hadn't see yet, I thought I might as well give it a try. Like many other actors, Murphy thought he could be a director and with this project, he went all the way, as he produced, wrote the whole thing and even played the lead character. Movies the giraffe watched in 2020: November (26 movies items)

"First viewing - Nov. 7th I ended my Saturday night with Harlem Nights because it's an Eddie Murphy film from the '80s I hadn't seen yet. And I had a good time with it. Watching Murphy work with his idol Richard Pryor is a treat all around, and it's refreshing to see a 1930s gangster film told from a Black perspective. The cast is very good, the story is well-told, and it's consistently entertaining. It's not quite great, but it's better than the ratings above would suggest. I'd watch it again."
