" AUGUST 09, 2022 Weekend at Bernie's (1989, dir: Ted Kotcheff) Cast: Andrew McCarthy, Jonathan Silverman, Catherine Mary Stewart, Terry Kiser My rating: 6/10 Watched on TV"
"I didn’t care for Weekend at Bernie’s at first, given that I was not only puzzled by the concept, but also thought the humour was decidedly too juvenile, for my taste. But it’s light breeziness, the chemistry between Jonathan Silverman and Andrew McCartney, and the movie’s commitment to itself, won me over."
"Format: Streaming Viewing: Umpteenth Thoughts: Weekend at Bernie's falls in that category of light silly 80s/90s comedy, similar to Police Academy and others of the like. It's basically like if you gave the Three Stooges a dead body and had them pretend it was alive. It's a fun ride but the nostalgia of it will make you like it more than it's worth. It loses a few stars for that horrible and abrupt ending, but gains a star for the coked out mob hitman who almost steals the show towards the end."
" First Viewing Viewing Date: October 14th Via: iTunes Store Plot: Two losers try to pretend that their murdered employer is really alive, leading the hitman to attempt to track him down to finish him off. Rating: 6.2/10"
