The Peanut Butter Solution (1985)
Losing hair, growing hair... growing too much hair. This was a sort of a fantastical fun adventure of a movie when I was a child. I recently watched a trailer and can tell it is not one that holds up well.
Stehako's rating:
A musical about auditioning for a musical. I wouldn't quite call it one singular sensation, but it's all right.
Stehako's rating:
Hurt and Julia are a solid team in this risky film that works in the end.
Stehako's rating:
It's a little unclear what this movie wanted to be, which is maybe why it's lower in the ratings. With that said it's not all that bad, with odes to classics like "Bridge on the River Kwai" and "Lawrence of Arabia". Hanks plays the role well, like he always does.
Stehako's rating:
The Jewel of the Nile (1985)
This sequel doesn't quite have the zeal of the first.

Just One of the Guys (1985)
Director: Lisa Gottlieb
Her 1st Movie
My 1st movie watched from the director
This movie was so far removed from reality, but somehow it's fun enough to keep it watchable. I give most of that credit to the lead, Joyce Hyser, who surprisingly never took off as a movie actress. It is very much a 'just go with it' kind of movie that is filled with 80s teen movie tropes we all love but it's just a level down from the ones we all love.

I tend to like competition documentaries, getting the inside stories of a group of individuals with very different backgrounds but with the same goals. I also like diving into an industry or topic I know little about. I especially like watching the time capsule docs. So, this fits all of that which means I enjoyed it, even if it was far from polished and never really that compelling.

Ran (1985)
Kirosawa's color epic has a slow pace with a bloated running time. While it's beautiful shot and performed and the story strong, it's in the middle of the great filmmaker's rated films.
Stehako's rating:
Sherman's March (1985)
I'm not sure how to describe such a documentary. Somehow Ross McElwee makes mosquito bites, among other things, interesting. This is not actually a documentary directly about Sherman's March rather a man's modern day journey along the path of Sherman, occasionally bringing up Sherman's March.
Stehako's rating:
Spielberg's most daring movie at this point in his career. Another epic and another fine display of staging and acting.
Stehako's rating:
Weird Science (1985)
Kelly LeBroc was what dreams were made of in 1985. The goofy duo who create her and the classic 80s high school setting makes for a fun movie.
Stehako's rating:
Cocoon (1985)
Classic actors acting much younger than they are in Ron Howard's fun film that unfortunately doesn't hold up real well.

Santa Claus: The Movie (1985)
I watched this a ton as a kid, with the antics of Dudley Moore and what I thought was an 'accurate' portrayal of the history of of Claus.
Stehako's rating:
Rocky IV (1985)
And this is the first Rocky I ever saw, oddly enough, something I hold further from my heart but still perhaps my favorite because of it.
Stehako's rating:
Director: Walter Hill
His 8th Movie
My 4th movie watched from the director
Yes, it's sloppy and full of potholes, but Pryor is undeniably funny and entertaining, as is Candy. Neither comic really gets to let loose, as the movie is strangely PG. It could have been better had it used the lead's R-Rated comedy to their fullest. I love the concept of this movie and there are some clever things put into it and it has a very classic 80s feel that I love.
