Personally, I always had a rather hard time with John Hugues. Indeed, by now, I have seen almost all his directing efforts (I still need to see ‘She’s having a Baby’ and ‘Sixteen Candles’ though) and, except for ‘The Breakfast Club’ which was really great, none of his other movies really impressed me. Two unpopular teenagers, Gary and Wyatt, fail at all attempts to be accepted by their peers. Thier desperation to be liked leads them to "create" a woman via their computer. Their living and breathing creation is a gorgeous woman, Lisa, who's purpose is to boost their confidence level by putting them into situations which require Gary and Wyatt to act like men. On their road to become accepted they encounter many hilarious obstacles which gives the movie an overall sense of silliness.

"A teenage boy's dream as two geeky friends decide to create a woman, never thinking she would be real and in the form of Kelly LeBrock, turning them from losers to heroes. This broad comedy is a favourite of the teen comedies of John Hughes and while not up there with Ferrie Bueller's Day Off or The Breakfast Club, there are enough gags to keep it fun and it zips along at a tremendous pace. Look out for a very young Robert Downey Jr."
