Savage Messiah (2002)
Savage Messiah is based on the true story of Roch "Moses" Theriault, the leader of a polygamist cult. Theriault was responsible for murders, torture and sexual abuse. If I remember correctly from reading about this case, there were some horrors in the real life cult that were too much for the movie. (Well, I could see Eli Roth putting it all in.) Savage Messiah is still one of the most disturbing movies I have ever seen. Luc Picard did an excellent job in his portrayal of Theriault.
Like Martyrs (the original one, not the remake), Savage Messiah is one of those movies that is a masterpiece of the horror genre, yet is too disturbing to see more than once.

The Green Inferno (2013)
The Green Inferno turned out to be not bad. It is Eli Roth's homage to the Italian jungle cannibal movies, like Cannibal Holocaust and Cannibal Ferox. The Green Inferno turned out to be much better than those two pieces of shit.
If I hated the two Italian cannibal movies, why did I watch this movie? Yep, curiosity.

Her (2013)
What a disappointing waste of time! It is definitely not what I expected, and not in a good way. Since the plot description is very similar to the Siri episode of the Big Bang Theory, I was expecting some fucking laughs. Alas, I didn't get any laughs, just one of the most boring movies I have ever seen.

The Escort (2015)
I have to be brutally honest. If it were, let's say, Jennifer Lawrence instead of Lyndsy Fonseca, I probably would not have bothered with this movie. Despite her looks and her talent, Lyndsy was not enough to save this boring piece of shit.
You know how there are movies that show the best parts and basically the entire jist of the movie in the trailer? Yes, it's one of those movies.

Breathe (2014)
Josephine Japy, an intersection of adorable and eye candy, stars in this movie about the relationship of two girls which can be described as "frenemies". It's very well done, yet it is one of those downer movies that would probably be seen only once.

The bad: There was no way they were ever going to top the original, so why make the remake at all? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Compared to the original, this one is mild, neutered.
The good: They didn't fuck up with this one as badly as I expected. Oh, and there is Troian Bellisario, who is not a great actress, but holy shit is she hot!

God Loves Uganda (2013)
This well done documentary is about Evangelicals, American and Ugandan alike, spreading their message of hate in Uganda. It is quite a disturbing film, yet there is a bit of hope in the form of those, such as Bishop Christopher Senyonjo, who fight hate with love.

Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015)
After a lot of hype and a long wait, I finally saw this one.
Unfortunately, it is a lot like what I expected. It is basically a Bond spoof done Tarantino style, and I don't mean in a good way like Django Unchained. I mean more like Pulp Fiction - stereotypically Tarantino-esque.
Then there is the Eggsy character, about whom it was hard to actually give a shit. I would think that such a character would be portrayed as, I don't know, likeable.
Maybe I was just in a bad mood.
