Well what can I say about The Full Monty? Simply this; it is one of those films that made me laugh and cry sometimes at the same time, and more importantly it made me proud to be British. The Full Monty is just a wonderful film, engaging, funny and genuinely poignant in places.

" Faced with economic hardship, Gaz, played by Robert Carlyle, who was previously in the movie, Trainspotting, are left with few options. So, they take up male stripping in hopes of raising enough money, especially Gaz who has to make child support payments. But first, they have to find others, to join in, too. Another problem, dealing with the repressive conservative townsfolk, who are not too thrilled about the show, taking place in their town. Itโs not just a musical comedy, itโs also "

The humour is often side-splitting, and the film is filled to the brim with many wonderful moments, the part when the "would-be Chippendales of the North" absent-mindedly gyrating to the radio in a dole queue was particularly inspired. And of course the dirty dancing antics. While it is very funny, it was poignant too. "Hereโs another film I saw in college, "The Full Monty," a comedy about Gaz (Robert Carlyle) and his quintet of former Sheffield steel factory workers Dave (Mark Addy), Gerald (Tom Wilkinson), Horse (Paul Barber), Guy (Hugo Speer), and Lomper (Steve Huison), who choose a career as Chippendale strippers while also on line for the unemployment office. Gaz, meanwhile, is fighting with his ex-wife Mandy (Emily Woof) for custody money for their son Nathan (William Snape). This movie is by far one of"

" Date: 5/6/2020 Viewed: Hulu First Viewing Note: I remember hearing about this movie over the years and never saw it until now. After watching it on Hulu, I thought it was a pretty good movie. I normally don't like British comedy because British humor is not really my cup of tea, but the movie had some hilarious moments that made me laugh. I like all the characters in the movie and the acting was solid. The only thing that I didn't like about the movie is that it took me a while to get inves"

"This is another story that we've seen many times before, but just works particularly well here. The story is simple: an unemployed man needs money to support his son, so he gets the idea to get his friends together and form a striptease act. And I think that's what makes the movie so inspiring: that it's all for such a personal goal. I especially love the character of Gerald and how he originally refuses, but ends up not only joining the group but becoming an integral part. Other than that, I do"

"When: November 16th First-Time Viewing: Yes. How: DVD from the library. What'd I Think?: Intriguing and funny film is deceptively clever, and smart. My Rating: 9/10 Other Notes: NA."
