An Israel-French co-productioned English language movie. The movie was both live action and animation which divides into two equal parts in the 2 hour movie. The movie chronicles the tale of an actress who travels different medium of the world during her second half of the life. The actress role was played by Robin Wright as herself.

Actually, it was better than I expected. It ... read more

Robin Wright receives an offer from Miramount to be scanned. In this way, her alias can be freely exploited in all films the Hollywood major decides to produce, even the most downmarket ones, the ones she has turned down until now. For 20 years she disappears to return as guest of honor at the Miramount-Nagasaki Convention in a transformed world of fantastical appearances.

Movies the giraffe watched in 2017: July (33 movies items)

"First viewing - July 7th Best hidden gem I remember seeing trailers for The Congress and thinking it was a really interesting idea & a film I'd want to see. Unfortunately I failed to catch it during its theatrical run, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a copy at the library so I could finally check it out. I've got to say that I'm surprised I haven't seen more talk about it. The concepts the film explores are really thought-provoking, and the way the film unfolds its story was unexpected "

My Movie Diary 2017 (217 movies items)

"16 January. A live-action-animated hybrid reminiscent of 70s french sci-fi, trippy cartoons. Robin Wright plays herself, an actress on the decline who sells to a studio the rights to her image, here, scanned digitally. A high concept mind product that is at times, hard to follow, but imaginatively satisfying."

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- May 2015 (40 movies items)

" DVD- 2hrs. First Viewing A bit too trippy for it's own good, The Congress is an interesting experiment of a movie that is often too vague or opaque to register, but is tough to write off as a failure. The film essentially hinges on Robin Wright's performance and she doesn't disappoint, giving both an excellent live-action and voice-over performance. Unfortunately, the film around her loses momentum and promise as in devolves into a mess around the third act. "
